Atlantis-Paradise Island-Nassau

if you noticed the original poster said that she didn't try to use the slides...and that she went to the beach area...
the $25 armband does enable you to use the beach area....but not the pools and slides...
i'm sure that if she had tried to go down a slide they would have stopped her...

As far as the beach area goes, I am guessing.... But, a beach is a beach... yes, anyone can walk down the beach. But, just try enjoying any of the Atlantis beach amenities, beach chairs, etc... That might be a whole different story! ;) Also, my guess is that it is not really too easy to walk from the Atlantis main entry, where the Kiosk, Casino, and The Dig, are located, to the beach, withOUT walking through the pool areas, which do seem to be closely monitered.

What is that old saying again.... "Get a room!!!!" ;)

you're allowed to walk through the pool area and visit the dig if you pay $25, but you're not allowed to swim in the pools or use the slides unless you have a room...

I phoned the Disney Cruise lines in reference to this information. I spoke with an associate about various excursions offered on Paradise Island, and the exclusions. She informed me of the armband available in the Casino for about $25.00. She explained this band will permit you to use most all the facilities of the resort with the exception of the pool/slides (or so she believed).

I explained another guest paid for the band, and used the pool. She sighed, and said different people will experience different things, due to different associates/factors, etc. She did encourage me to take the cab from the ship to Atlantis, and purchase the armband. The beach/Dig are wonderful, she proclaimed. The pool can sometimes be a bit crowded and loud.

So, we're cancelling the room and just going for the bands. We'll see how it goes. The pool/slide are not that big a deal for us, we have one in our backyard here at home (built in rock slide which wraps around 23 tons of a granite waterfall), and also visit Blizzard Beach...Typhoon Lagoon, etc. while at WDW. We are there to mainly "explore" and take in the sights.

Bbethparsons~I think it's wonderful you were able to access all the desirable areas with your band. What a wonderful experience. ;) Sometimes...MAGIC happens in the most unexpected places!

dreamflight99..
in her post she never said that she used the slides or the pool, but merely that she had access to the pool area and the beach....
that's nothing new.....for $25/person you can have access to the pool area/dig and beach but without the use of the pools and slides....
this has ALWAYS been the policy there....at least for the last several years when we and my family have visited...
if you're not interested in using the pools/slides then no need for the room....the $25 entrance fee will suffice...

And the clarification, disneyholic family. I was never informed of any such opportunity before, and thought the only way to enjoy the beach, or the digs...was to RENT a ROOM for the day! I am delighted with the $25 entrance fee. I'm also pleased with these boards, and the bevy of info I discover each and every day. Better now...than after I have paid for a room, or an excursion, only to discover it was unecessary. Thanks again. ;)

P.S. I'll be the FIRST to post on this board if they "permit" me to USE the pool/slide, etc. I'll definitely "TRY" it, just to see if they actually permit this use with this $25.00 fee. :p
