I know I have read about it here many times before but I cannot find it.

My friends are going on the Wonder in March and looking for info. (We have only done the 7 day Magic Cruise) What do you get to do if you take the Atlantis excursion? Is there a way to get a day room to use the water park?

You can either get a day room at the Atlantis or at the less expensive Comfort Suites (I think that's the name) next door.

You won't be able to use the pools with this excursion. The only way to use the pool and slide facilites is to be a guest at either The Atlantis itself or the Comfort Suites.

You can pre-book a day room with the Comfort Suites, but I think they have a maximum of 4 or 5 in a room. The Atlantis typically does not allow you to pre-book. You would need to call on the day you arrive and see if they have any availabilities.

Are you given a wristband so they know you are at Comfort Suites? I wonder if its worth it for one day at the pools at Atlantis?

Thanks!

The Comfort Suites doesn't do day rooms, you are just booking a room the regular old fashioned way and simply using it for the day. The chances of it being ready before the official check in time can be rare if you're traveling during the high season. You can do the same at the Atlantis. At both of these resorts you can only have 4 people so 4 wristbands. The Atlantis allows what is called a "day room". In the hotel industry a day room is just that, it's ready early in the day and you can only use it for the day. Some hotels, like those at some airports allow you to book early some only allow you to book that day and if they have free hotel rooms they do this type of booking. At the Atlantis you get the "day room" from early in the morning until 6 PM, that's it.

We booked a room several months ahead of time at the Comfort Suites. On the reservation I just added that we would be arriving at 10:00 a.m. on the Disney Wonder, and that we would just be using the room for the day. When we got there (about 10:00ish) we were able to go right to our room! Once you get over to the pool area at the Atlantis they give you your wristband and towels. The cost for us on Nov. 1, 2004 was about $225.00 total.

We had no problem booking a room at the Comfort suites ahead of time. As the previous poster mentioned, we informed them that we were on the cruise and would need the room from about 10am to 3pm. They said it would be no problem. What I meant about the Atlantis is that they offer the day room, but you can't pre-book it. You have to call that morning and they'll check on availability. There's a website called rentalcodes.com that you can use. Just select Choice Hotel from the hotel drop down menu and then select Comfort Suites and put in your information. You can typically get 10% - 20% off the rate.
