We're trying to decide on getting a "room for the day" at Atlantis to enjoy the beaches, pools, casino or go on our own to Paradise Island Beach.

Would appreciate hearing from anyone who has done either or both. We have a family of 8 including a mother and mother n law (60's and 70's).

Thanks

you will get mixed reactions on this...I can tell you that my opinion is to skip the room and do the beach. My friend had booked a room in October for the day for us. We were really looking forward to going there, but for some reason it turned out to be a waste for us. We had wanted to snorkel in the snorkeling lagoon, and were really looking forward to this, but we didn't see anything! Also, the weather made the ocean waves choppy, so we couldn't swim at the beach. I thought it was hard to find your way around, and also one of the water slides was closed. The Dig was beatiful, but i thought for some reason that it was going to be more than what it was. We left after about four and a half hours and decided to go try our luck at something else. This is just one day and one opinion. I know others have really loved it there and thought it was worth the money.

forgot to say, that since there are eight of you, you would have to book two rooms - only four folks to a room allowed.

The answer to your question is simple- but it depends on what you wnat to do. Do you mostly want to beach/snorkel? Then don't bother with Atlantis. But if you mostly want a water park/huge and beautiful pools, go with Atlantis. We just got back from our Disney cruise this past Sunday. We spent the day at Atlantis on Thursday. We absolutely loved it. It was relaxing, beautiful, three amazing slides. We knew that we would be beaching it/snorkeing the next day at Castaway Cay. Atlantis was spectacular!.

We were on the same cruise as prymsu- Hi Sue:wave:

We booked a room at Comfort Suites and went to Atlantis. We got there around 9:30 and were back on the ship around 3:00. It was fun to do once but I don't know if I want to do it again. We really didn't get to enjoy yhe pools because DD8 'didn't have anybody to play with' . The slides were fun and the resort is beautiful. It is A LOT of walking. We met a couple coming out of the Comfort Suites as we were heading over to Atlantis and they showed us kind of a a short cut. The Dig was nice but I was expecting a more too. DD thought it was great though. We didn't use the beach because the surf was so strong and the wind was strong that day too. I don't think we really got our monies worth out of the day. Live and learn.
