Atlantis excursions?

After patiently (or not ?) waiting for the system to come back up this morning I couldn't find the port adventures we were hoping for. I still have my list from our original cruise scheduled for 2020 (and then rescheduled and rescheduled again) so the other day I confirmed on the Disney website that the excursion we wanted was still showing ....https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/...olphin-cay-dip-discover-interaction-atlantis/

When I logged in this morning I couldn't find it. Are the Atlantis excursions temporarily on hiatus? I know we could book through Atlantis but in order to do the shallow wade with the dolphins you also have to purchase a day pass which makes it a little more pricey than I would like for the 5 of us. I have booked the Blue Lagoon excursion for now so that we have something but in addition to the dolphins we were also going to go to the Atlantis casino so that my 20 year old twins could enjoy a legal drink. With us going to Blue Lagoon now I'm not sure that we will have time to experience both?? Or maybe I should look to see if there is a bar at Blue Lagoon that could maybe work as well? Thanks for listening to me babble with my fingers today. I am really trying to get my excitement level back up to where it was in 2019/2020 when I initially booked a graduation cruise for my children and you all are helping me sooo much!!!

I have a feeling you will have alot of difficulty doing both Blue Lagoon and Atlantis. We did Blue Lagoon two weeks ago and they are very restrictive on the travel to and from the island. Essentially you are tendered out there as a group from your ship and then they tell you when your designated return time. They do this to limit mixing of passengers between ships. Our meeting time for the excursion was 9:50 in the theater and then they walked us down to the tenders which took a good 30 minutes because Blue Lagoon has forms that they want you to sign off on. Our return time was 2:45 to be at the Blue Lagoon dock and we got back to the ship about 3:30. There may have been enough time to check out a couple of shops right outside the port but I didn't want to risk it because we were at one of the far births.

I will say though that Blue Lagoon was really nice and having a designated beach area for our ship made it so that it was easier to find chairs. One thing I didn't anticipate was that the lunch on the island wasn't included with the Dolphin Swim and lunch was $25/person extra. The beach day package for the island does include it.

Having said that, the Dolphin Swim was really cool and my daughter and I enjoyed it alot more than the Atlantis one because we got more interaction time with the dolphin. Also the picture package I got included all of the pictures and a video of the session for $130 (and they do take credit cards). Unlike Atlantis they don't do thumbdrives with the pictures. They will email you a link to go and download them. I got the link that afternoon but I waited until we were back at the airport to download them because it was about 500mb worth of pictures and videos.

Also, they do have little bars set up in each of the beach areas so you should still be able to get the twins a legal drink there and then they can enjoy it on the beach.

In January, if I recall correctly, DCL had not resumed any excursions to Atlantis except the beach one. Nothing that included animals or the water park. So, that may still be an issue.

Can you book their dolphins package with the day passes if you have a reservation at the Comfort Suites? Booking a room there does give you access to Atlantis and can save over booking 4 day passes.

That being said, we have been to Blue Lagoon twice, pre-pandemic, and enjoyed it. We have not done a dolphin encounter, but the beach is nice and they do have at least 2 bars.

Thank you soo much for the thoughtful replies. Exactly what I needed for some reassurance (I am not good with changing plans after I get something in my head so yesterday threw me for a loop). We will stick with the Blue Lagoon excursion and just plan to get a drink before heading back! I appreciate the lunch tip as well, as a planner that is a great thing to know ahead of time. Went to Blue Lagoon on one of our stops in February. Ship excursions were all full bubble - you could not leave the excursion until you logged back onboard even if you were vaccinated (under threat of quarantine for rest of cruise). They did have some Atlantis excursions but these were to a pool, lazy river area (supposedly not the main one), and beach. Again, all participants had to stay in the bubble. It is a long walk from where the Blue Lagoon boat dropped off (complete with show your picture ID to port officials) to ship, then double that back to shore. Main port building is completely gone but a lot of shops across the street are open, including the straw market.
