Hey folks, major computer problems for awhile :( so I have been out of touch. Now I am back in business with broadband service. I apologize if this has been asked:

I received a mailing a couple of months ago indicating the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island was being added to our exchanges. Is that now available, or are they adding it later this year?

World Passport Collection?

I take it they offer villas, etc.? Any reports are helpful too!

Thanks for any help offered. ::MickeyMo

Icy Dog...If I get my wife to Atlantis I will be a hero with the spouse. At least for an hour or two. :teeth:

I might even rent from an owner on www.tug2.net to save my points. I think Disney is the most expensive timeshare as far as point value. I can rent my points for anything over $10 and come out ahead when I rent for cash from an owner of the Atlantis timeshare. In June we rented a geogeous villa at the wonderful hacinda del mar in Puerto Rico for $1,000 for a week. It was about what we could rent a studio for at the same time of year. I think that makes more sense than trading out but maybe I'm wrong. I really don't know how many points it would take to trade into Atlantis for a week.

We were thinking of go to Atlantis in March 2005. Do you know if you can make reservations now for March if you have to wait until Jan 2005?

Anyone heard what the points are on this? I'm guessing HUGE?!?

I pulled up this resort online and it is pretty darn nice!

I can reserve Atlantis at 8 months out for 2005. I would love to trade for DVC points if anyone is interested. Starwood system is also point based. So the "points" I need to make a reservation depends on the season and the unit size. I am trying to get a member a unit at Westin St. John (need to book at the end of October).

It it comes through, then I will have enough points to book a 1-br unit for the summer time. If I cannot reserve the St. John unit, then I will have enough options to book the 2-br at Harborside. Again, the availability varies.

This whole thing is new to me, so I am not sure how many points it would take, just looking for a fair trade. Thanks

I'm going in April to the Atlantis. WE're staying in a 2 BR at Harborside - Atlantis. This is Starwood's timeshare on Atlantis property. My sister owns 2 weeks there.

lat - yes we have been trying thru tug2 for a trade to atlantis I sent you a pm regarding this.

Not sure if you realize that there are two components. A timeshare called Harborside and the hotel, Atlantis. Harborside was REMOVED from the World Passport collection last year around Xmas I believe. Atlantis the hotel is being added to the Concierge Collection starting Jan of this year. Last I saw the points were still TBA. It's possible Harborside will be added back into the World Passport program once it starts showing up in II on a regular basis for exchanges.

I think that Harborside is doubling the amount of units in the next couple of years. I hope that will help with trading into Harborside.

I knew they were enlarging. Actually I think the reason for no availability was that in addition to it being a new high profile resort, it was closed some 5 months due to water damage and repairs. Hopefully they will add it back in.

You're right about the water damage (it was also mold). For my sisters first visit, Harborside was closed for repairs. Harborside gave them connecting rooms and food vouchers in the Atlantis Hotel instead. That's a nice trade.

Dean... Thanks for the information. Very valuable.::yes::

I would clearly want the villas, as opposed to the hotel rooms. :wave2:

I think the points requirement for Atlantis is going to be astronomically high. That said, I think it is going to be very popular anyway! Not sure I would use my points there though. I'm assuming they will have different points requirements according to the different towers they have there. Even the least expensive one is amazingly high priced though.

Did Atlantis not receive any new damage from these past hurricanes?

My sis is going in November and she said everything is OK at Harborside.
