My family wants to go to Atlantis when we're in Nassau on the 5/22 Wonder. The Beach Day excursion would cost $210 for us (2 adult 2 kids), but we wouldn't be able to use the pools.

The idea of a day room sounds much better since it would include pools (water sports, too??) and be more affordable (approx $175 according to these boards).

So, how would we travel from the ship to Atlantis if we don't buy the excursion? Is it far? A long ride? Taxi? Shuttle bus?

And how long does a day room last? That is, how early can we get in and when do they kick us out?

Also, we have the early dinner seating. In order to get the most out of our Atlantis day, could DCL switch us to the late seating for that night only? Should we plan to have hot dogs on the deck at anytime instead of worrying about meeting a dinner schedule?

Any advice? Thanks. :confused::

I am crusing for the first time in May, however I've read on the boards that you can take a cab from the port to Atlantis at about $4 per person.

For how long a day room lasts, you could probably call Atlantis and ask.

Not sure what DCL would do for you in terms of changing your dinner time. I'm sure if you wanted to change to late seating for the entire cruise, you can request that, to switch for just one day, I haven't heard of anyone doing that. I am sure some of the other folks on the board can tell you more as they are incredibly knowledgable.

Either way, I've been to the Atlantis and it is beautiful.

Good Luck!

We spent the day at Atlantis in Sept. when we were on the 3 day Wonder. We took a taxi over and it was a short ride and I think the cost was $4.00 each. We reserved a room at the Comfort Suites for 1 night-the price was about $200.00 and included use of the pools and amenities at Atlantis. We arrived at the hotel at about 10am and received our wristbands after we checked in. The room was available and we were able to drop off a few things in the room and walk to Atlantis. We stayed all day and took a shower in the hotel room and returned to the ship in time for early sitting dinner. It was plenty of time in the pools and our 6 year old DD had a blast!!!!!

When you stayed at the Comfot Inn, How many people did you have? We have 2 adults and 3 children. Do they give you the wristbands at the Comfort Inn? Or did they just give the adults ID cards at the Comfort Inn and then give you the wristbands at Atlantis? When I called, they said that they only give ID cards to the adults, so we wonder if we could get our three children in wihtout getting two rooms.

Thanks for your reply.

i have read on these boards in the past different and conflicting info. When i personally called both Atlantis and Comfort Suites, I was told that there was a limit to four people to a room end of story. I have read other threads were folks went the day of without an advance reservation though and was able to get one room with more then four folks...

We had 2 adults and 1 child when we stayed at the Comfort Suites. We checked in and we received the ID cards for all 3 of us. The adults cards were good for charging meals and such at Atlantis. You take the cards to Atlantis with you and this is what you use to get the wrist bands for the pools. We only used our DD's card to get a wristband. They give you a ID card for everybody in your party. I believe the limit per room is 4 but since we only had 3, I'm not sure about that. We had a great day there and it was well worth the $200.00 investment. We brought sandwiches from the ship and drinks with us. We had a small collapsible cooler we packed with ice on the ship and it keep everything cold all day. We also took snacks so we spent no money once we got there except for the taxi and a little something from the gift shop. Enjoy your time there. It's a beautiful resort!!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

We cruised on the 1/19 sailing of the Wonder and we able to get a day room at Atlantis. We took a taxi over- $4 per person. When you get off of the ship just walk to the end of the pier the taxi drivers will find you. Our driver was very nice and it was a quick ride. We entered the lobby of the Royal Tower (the main lobby) and went over to the desk to request a day room. We were told that they had several available that day. We took the cheapest offered which was in the Coral Tower for $200.

If you have anymore questions please ask!

When you had the day room at atlantis, How many people did you have in your group?

akwiatek.....

The staff member at the Atlantis pool told me that young children do not require bracelets. We were on the 1/19 also. We did not get a dayroom, but we had reserved a room at the Comfort Suites. At check-in we received ID cards. Once we arrived at the Atlantis we went to the stand at the pool. Once there we told them our room number and they gave us towels and wristbands. My husband and I were not together at the time so we went seperately each telling them our room number. I am not sure of the age of your children, but we have a 4 and 2 year old. Neither one of the girls needed a bracelet although the woman offered one to my DD (4) since she thought they were bracelets.

Sounds like they went up on the cost of the day rooms this year! I had always heard $150.00.

Teri, do you remember how much were the rooms at the Royal Towers? Were they a lot more?

Shelly3girls...

Thanks for the info. We have a 4 year old as well as a 9 and 13 year old. We have a room reserved at the Comfort Suites but was a little concerned because they say the room is only for 4 poeple.

By the way, did they give you an ID card for eyeryone, or just for the adults.

Thanks again for the reply ;)

After reading this thread i decided to ask Comfort suites directly about their policy....

I asked if children under 10 could enter without wristbands if an accompanying adult had one...here is my email response....

dated 2/1/03

Thank you for your interest in Comfort Suites Paradise Island.

All registered guest of Comfort Suites Are allowed to use the beach and pool facilities of the Atlantis Resorts.
The maximum per is four persons, whether two adults and two children or even one adult and three children, the maximum is four to a room.

All persons 15 and under must be accompanied with an adult around the pool area.

Please feel to contact us for any further details.

She didn't answer my specifc question but feel get gave the gist of their Offical policy.....So, if you have more then four you could possibly rent a room only to get there and only begiven 4 wrist bands...not enough to enter the pool areas...

I've decided not to take the chance...even thought playing at the atlantis pools is what I think my kids woul really enjoy....But $400+ for 2 hotel rooms is out to the budget

We were not told where the rooms were just the prices. She informed us that they had two different prices for day rooms- one being $200 and the other $250. We were interested in the $200, which was in the Coral Tower. I am not sure if the $250 would have been at the Royal Tower or not. We did not ask.
I will add that the room at the Coral Tower was beautiful!! It was on the bottom floor with a patio and a great ocean view.
