Atlantis Beach ?

I understand that the Atlantis Beach is available as an excursion if you choose to not purchase a room/day room and that will allow you to gain access to the private beach. Is the beach similar to Castaway Cay (very blue, clear water - lots of fish)? I've only been to Castaway Cay once and recall it being different than any beach I've ever been on -- instead of heavy waves coming in and out, it was very calm and the water wasn't very deep (maybe 6 or 7 feet deep in Serenity Bay???) Is that the way Atlantis is? Sorry for the silly ? but I have nothing else to compare it with -- no beaches like that anywhere around here.......

We go to Atlantis frequently, and I do not reccomend thier beach. It is gritty and rather choppy, it is also rather small. The other amminities of the resort are great. The pools are the best!! NOTHING compares to Castaway!! If Disney built a resort there I would be there 6 months of the year!!
