Ok so this is a follow-on to my earlier ask of budget tips. I'm really struggling with accommodations.

Has anybody here stayed at the beach tower? What was your experience? I've stayed at royal tower before and the room wasn't great but comfortable and the location was central. The price difference for 4 days would be about $450.

I know what I'm getting into with Atlantis, you're dealing with island everything and they know you don't have many options. But I'd like to save where I can. I'm aware of the additional fees and I have no problems telling the bellman or others that expect extra tips that 15% was already taken care of in the bill rather than pay double.

Please any advice or experience would be appreciated. While Atlantis is necessarily a value play, it's off-season and prices are reasonable. I'd like to make the most of what I spend.

I would do the Royal Towers. We stayed in the Beach Towers and spent all of our time at the Royal. It seemed like a hike any time we went out. The rooms were not that great at the Beach Towers, seemed outdated (this was about 4 years ago). I swore if we went again we would stay in the Royal Towers.

I''ve stayed in the Beach Tower, the rooms are fine. You''ll just be walking further to the main pools and stuff. I also went in off season (Nov) and the pools at the beach towers were closed. Just pack up what you need for the day when heading out a as it would be a hike back to the room from the waterpark area.

How long was the walk if you remember? This is what I'm most worried about. I don't mind walking but I don't want to have to account too much time necessarily to walking to dinner or the pools especially after a full day in the sun or diving.

I really don't remember time wise how long of a walk it was, just that it was very inconvenient. We went in August, so it was extremely hot, making the walk worse. I normally like walking for exercise, but it just seemed like this took a lot of time each way. Forget if you had to go back to the room for anything. I do remember thinking that I would definitely stay in the Royal Towers the next time since that is where we spent ALL of our time. I did ask a friend of ours before we made our reservations where to stay. She recommended the Beach Towers to save money. I regretted it. Just my opinion based on our experience. Hope it helps!

If you haven't already booked your room, I would check out Comfort Suites. Its literally a 3 minute walk to Atlantis, free access to everything, and free breakfast. We just got back from there and loved it!

It isn't that far away that you measure it in time and I went in Nov so it wasn't real hot. Inconvenient if you want to run back to the room for something but not a mile away. Daytime we were always by the royal but at night we were in different areas, some closer to beach. If money was no object, I would definitely stay in Royal for the beauty alone. But as money was a consideration for the price difference I don't regret staying in the Beach tower. We went horseback riding on the beach, had massages, gambled, etc. with the saved money. For me that was a better use of my dollars, ymmv.
