Which tower do you think is the nicest to stay in and why?

We are celebrating our daughters 16th birthday at the Atlantis and would like a nice room for 4 people that has water views.

Also- any opinions on if the food plan is worth it because we heard food prices are insane. We are hesitant because not sure what time breakfast is over and if my teens would be up in time to make use of it.

Reef and Cove have their own pools that are not open to cruise ship guests, day trippers, etc. Much less crowded and much easier to find a chair (and the chairs are padded, unlike the other pools.) Also an easy walk to the beach. The Reef has kitchenettes; don't know if Cove does. Cove has an adult-only pool too.

I heard that if you stay at Comfort Inn that right across from Atlantis, it a lot cheaper and you get full access to Atlantis

I just stayed at Atlantis last month. I did not use the food plan but food was expensive! I had a room in the Royal tower and had water view--was gorgeous! Would go back in a heartbeat!

Still doing research? Did you see this thread?

Here's my 2 cents about the meal plan:
don't do the meal plan. Its priced such that if you go light on a single meal on your trip, it offers no savings. Both the gourmet and value plans are not priced for value but for convenience. Pay as you go, have some pizza or burgers for dinner a few nights and save.

Now if the meal plan is thrown in for free for kids, it's worth evaluating, but you still have to consider how you plan to eat. For most people, the meal plan pre-locks you into paying for much more food than you'll actually eat. Meal plan could be a value with kids for free, but still consider whether you normally eat a full-Monty buffet every breakfast and dinner of a vacation.

Skip the meal plan and stay at the Reef. Their units are even nicer than most DVC units.....

Do you suggest the Reef over the Cove? We were thinking of the Cove because there would be no day trippers from cruise ships and all rooms have an ocean view. Not really happy about the 2nd bed being a pull out couch though. For that money they should have a second bed. lol

My sisters and I do a girls trip every year and we stay at the Cove. We have done both meal plan and no meal plan and definitely prefer no meal plan and find that to be most cost effective. Have fun!

The Reef is timeshare/DVC type units. The Cove is modern luxury hotel. Which do you prefer? Can't really say which is nicer because both serve a different purpose. They are certainly the nicest and newest at Atlantis, but the other towers are totally decent as well, if you're looking to save a little.

I wouldn't base my decision on avoiding cruisers. Aquaventure is a busy place, and you'll likely be spending most of your time there. The pool between the Cove and Reef (cascades) is a quiet place to avoid the crowds, but all of the towers have a pool area like that. If you're looking for a quiet beach vacation, Atlantis is not the right place. Atlantis is Disney World meets a Las Vegas casino, on the beach.

One thing to note about the Cove: I believe they are pretty strict on age 18 requirement for Cain pool (that's the nightclubby 'ultra' pool that's exclusive for Cove guests).

Also, I wouldn't focus too much on view, unless you hard-set on having a straight on view of the ocean. The non-Ocean views of the Reef face Nassau harbor, which is a pretty interesting view on its own with they steady stream of cruise ships coming and going. As long as you have a high floor in any of the towers at Atlantis, you'll either be seeing the ocean or the harbor.

And finally, the truly best accommodation on Paradise Island are at the One and Only Ocean club. Guests there get all access to Atlantis, and there are frequent luxury shuttles to get you back and forth.
