Has anyone been to the Atlantic Dance Hall at the Boardwalk? I have always wanted to go but wasn't old enough until Jan. (I was going to go with my parents and boyfriend last New Years but I didn't turn 21 until Jan 4th....just a few days shy). I was thinking about going NYE this year instead. I was wondering what people thought of the Dance Hall. Has anyone been on NYE who either loved or hated it?

When I've been (and maybe I've been too early in the night), it's always been dead. It's pretty big inside, but no one is ever there. I've never been there on NYE so I don't kow what that's like. When I've been to Jellyrolls on a regular night, there's a good crowd there.

The amount of cigerette smoke that pours out the door of that place makes me fear of contracting black lung.

I have never gone to it, but do walk by it a lot, while staying at the Swan. I never really see anybody there, going in or out.

I have been there a few times, always during slower times of the year. It is OK, there wasn't a cover and they played good music with the videos. The place has ranged from completely deserted to barely populated. ;) I don't understand it, it's really pretty nice on the inside, and the music is tame and pretty good (mostly 80s and 90s pop as opposed to techno), so why isn't anybody here???

We went there in March since we were staying on the Boardwalk and did not want to venture too far since DH and I were so tired. It was quite dead and disappointing.
We ended up heading to Downtown Disney - 8trax for some great 80's music! It was wonderful....

I was under the impression they played swing and jazz music. Is there club at Disney that plays this kind of music?

They played swing music when it first opened--that lasted all of maybe 6 months. Not aware of any place in Orlando that does currently, unless you happen to see local entertainer Michael Andrew is playing at a club.

Stopped into Atlantic Dance Hall for the first time in a while Saturday night--dead does not begin to cover it. Even around 11 or 12 (when PI gets going), staff outnumbered guests. There's never a cover, but no one even bothered checking IDs at the door. For comparison, Jelly Rolls was busy tho certainly not packed.

Wow, after hearing all that, I don't really want to go anymore. Anyone have any good ideas (aside from the parks) for NYE at WDW?
