Hi There,
I was just wondering where you all have got or are getting married? We are thinking the Atlantic Dance Hall so I wanted to know if any of you have made the same choice.
Also, where did you hold your ceremony and why did you choose it? With Disney there are so many options, it's getting a little overwhelming to say the least! At least I still have a year or so right LOL!

I had a reception at ADH and loved it.. my wedding was at night though, which in my opinion made it awesome. I wanted a party!

Here are some of the main reasons I chose it...

1. It's private. It is yours and yours alone. While you're in a gorgeous gown and your guests are dressed up, there aren't people walking around in shorts and a t-shirt with Mickey ears sharing the restroom with your guests (could possibly happen in ballrooms or certain other locations)

2. It's ambience. It's already decorated! You don't have to spend much money decorating (asides from centerpieces) to make it look nice.

3. I wanted a band. Bands work in ballrooms, but the stage is AMAZING. that's just me though.

4. I had a lot of people... well, not huge but I had a fairly large wedding so I wanted space. The place is HUGE!! I had 150 peeps.

Here's a pic of it from the top (at night). I'm not a big fan of it during the day but at night I think the lights look fantastic. Notice the only thing we did for decor was colored napkins and centerpieces and I think it looks great.

wow that looks amazing! I hadn't seen any pictures of it at night, thanks for sharing it! I want more of a "party" too, I figure if people are going to come to WDW for a wedding we better show them a good time lol! Our wedding is probably going to be around the same size as yours, so its good to hear that you didnt feel cramped.

What day of the week did you have your wedding? I wanted to use ADH so badly, but since ours would be on a Thursday we would have to all leave by 8. I've just always liked the idea of having a longer reception. :sad1:

We also chose ADH for our reception this past November. Like twiu, we liked that the whole place was ours. We just loved the whole feel of the place. We did not want a ballroom. To us you can get something like a ballroom/reception in most areas. The ADH is something different.

We had a morning wedding in Epcot (Italy) and we liked that ADH was so close for our guests to travel to. Now, our reception was during the day. Our pre-reception was 10:00 to 11:00 and our reception was 11:00 to 3:00 but honestly I'm not really sure if we noticed any difference inside (day vs. night). We were able to walk out on their deck and enjoy the day but still go inside and it really felt like a party.

I will post some pictures so you can see what the place looked like during the day as opposed to the night.

After the reception we spent some time on the Boardwalk taking pictures.

Please let me know if you would like to see more pictures or if you have any questions about ADH or Disney weddings in general.

Linda, your pics look great too! I love how they made the sign with your names on it in front of the building! I would of course love to see any pics you have (I'm a disney nut!)
How many people did you have at your wedding?
Oh- one more question, how was the buffett set up there, I havent really seen any examples and I was told you can only have a buffett dinner there.
Thanks!

Thanks - yes adding our names to the marque was something we wanted to do (of course it cost $200.00 but to us it was worth it).

We had 50 people at our wedding. We had 5 tables of 10 plus our Sweetheart Table.

Yes, the food there is buffet only - we had a brunch. Let me see if I can find some pictures of the set up and I will post pictures.

As far as the location of the food. If you look at this picture

in the far right corner (past the few small round tables) you will see the corner of a table with a white table cloth on it. This is where our food was. Our pre-reception was upstairs.

Wow, I love it, there are so many cool places to take pictures there too, I love the mix of outdoor and indoor. I think it really is a fun unique place to have a reception. Did you still have that "Disney" feeling there?

Yeah - we love ADH - we had the "Disney" feeling because we love the Boardwalk and make sure we visit there a few times during our trips to Disney. I think our guest liked it because it was something new to most of them. It was great having all that space to walk around and to be able to go outside. I guess having Mickey and Minnie there also helped.

Can you use the stage? Can you have an outside entertainer come in and perform on the stage? Does the lighting come with the place automatically? Thanks! :thumbsup2

We did not use the stage like twiu did but the lighting on the dance floor did come with our package.

Can you have a sit down dinner here or does it have to be buffet?

I thought that's what it was, just double checking, thank you!

Um.. my reception was on a Sunday, so we had the place until 2 am! It was great. It was labor day weekend so we got lucky and our guests had Monday off work.

As for the band, yes, they used the stage. WE had to pay extra to bring in an outside band (for electricity and such) but then the lighting came with it. Anywhere on property if you have outside entertainment, you have to pay an extra fee.

We had our ceremony at Epcot Japn, and then ADH for our reception. We picked it because of the size. We had 48 guest and then the two of us. It was the perfect size to feel like we were all close, but spread out enough to have a good size dance floor for everyone. Plus the view from thse second floor patio was fantastic. Also we did enjoy that the location was private to our group and no one else besides the CM working the events were walking around.

Hi there.
I also had my reception at the ADH...
We had our ceremony at the wedding pavilion...

ADH was great. We picked it because we wanted something different then other weddings we have been to with a ballroom.

We thought the name on the marquee came with the package. so that was one thing we regret not having.

We had about 90 people. We had 5 tables of 10 and 8 tables of 4.

We also had a dj because we werent into the band thing.
Here are a few pictures
