Atlantic Canadian WDW Fans

So it's me again and we are going to try flying out of manchester. For 5 of us return, $925! This was a Ding price (limited time offer, non-refundable). Non-stop flights for a little over 3 hrs. Figure we'll be at Disney by noon at the latest.

We will drive down the day before (flights at 0640 down and 0725 return) and stay overnight at the Holiday Inn express. $154.00 for the night and can park for the 8 days. I'm estimating $150-200 for gas (depends on how much it falls before we go).

Comes in pretty close to the cost to drive the whole thing with 5 of us. And we get to take the kids on a plane (they may never get on one again with the price of fuel).

If the cat was reasonable, you could drive to yarmouth, take the cat to portland and then fly from there to orlando. But the cost it too much to justify.

bluenosemickey ....

Please keep track of all the costs associated with your Manchester flight .. ie. actual gas, hotel, incidentals, etc. I'd be very interested in seeing the bottom line of this for my own reference for the future.

Thx
Ted

Thanks for the link! We booked our tickets last week.

Oh excellent! Always a good feeling when you make reservation just sucks it has to be for return though. Anyway youve got to tell us what you thought of allegiant when you get back,Im sure everyones as curious as I am . I read you have to pay for all luggage but you check but thats not even unusal now even for major carriers.Good luck and im still thinking about the roof rack offer, maybe if we could stop in NH first?:woohoo:

The cost for luggage is only $15 a bag which really amounts to nothing because the ticket costs so little. For two one way adult tickets with baggage, taxes and other fees included directly from Orlando to Bangor, we paid $230.

$230.00!!!!
Yes, please let us know what it is like to fly with them. It would be alot cheaper for me to drive to Bangor and fly with them than to pay an arm and a leg and fly out of Halifax. Thanks.:thumbsup2

We feel so lucky to live only 2 hours from Bangor. We can hop on a cheap bus and get there. Even if you have to park at the airport, their weekly rates are very reasonable.

Ted in Hfx, I will let you know the costs. I would also be interested to know the prices to park at Bangor, Portland or Manchester Airports.

Anyone? Anyone?

We wouldn't mind driving straight through and then getting on a plane instead of spending the night. But I expect that the cost will be the same as parking at an airport and at least we arrive at WDW somewhat fresh when we stay overnight.

They charge less than $50 a week to park at the Bangor Airport. You can look it up. Just go to their website.

For those that fly out of Maine, Who do you fly with? What is the approx. cost? Thanks.

We have always flown from Bangor with Delta. I think the most we have paid was about $200 return (that includes fees and taxes). This last trip was about 180 Cdn. We also book about 300 days out.

Seriously check out Allegiant Air. I can't give you my experience with them yet but the cost is too good to believe. About $200 return all the time! That's not a seat sale.

The problem with Allegiant is that they only fly on Wednesday and Saturday. And only to Sanford, not MCO.

I can see that this would be a problem if you didn't have flexible travel dates. However, we are able to plan our trip around when we can get the best airfare. I think there are probably others who can do this as well.

I can see how Sanford may be a problem for those wishing to use ME. It doesn't work for everyone but for those who rent a car anyway, I'd say check it out.

Does anyone know the cost to get from Sanford Airport to Disney Resorts.....shuttles, taxi?, etc

I have no idea. My parents will be driving us. I'm willing to bet though, that even with a taxi or shuttle ride, it will still be more economical to fly in there, if you get the $99 fare.

I haven't seen the $99 rate.............what dates is it applicable to ?

It's with Allegiant Air and it seems to be every Wednesday and Saturday from Bangor. Sometimes it's cheaper and, if you are booking really close to the date you are leaving, it might be quite a bit less. I just checked the page, and if I were to leave this Wednesday it was cost me $29 to get there and $29 to get back a week later.

I just checked that out myself.......WOW.......$250 total for the both of us....RETURN !! I can't belive that price.....I wonder if it has anything to do with the tropical storm due to hit within a day or two ?
