Looking to stay at a beach for 3 or 4 days before Disney. We have been to cocoa and want to try something different.looking for a resort feel with a budget price.2 adults,2teens,going in July.any recomendations? Not interested in gulf beaches as son wants waves.

It's a bit of a drive (about 2 hours), but the Hutchinson Island Marriott fits your description. It has a very resort-y feel and isn't overly expensive in the summer.
Plus if you hurry, you can buy a Marriott Gift Card and get 10% extra value on it for free. Have to do it by midnight tonight though. Details of that are here: http://www.rewards-insiders.marriott.com/thread/14375. That will basically knock 10% off your rate from the 'free money' they are giving you.

Are flying in or driving? If you are driving down 95 at all we highly recommend the beaches in southern Georgia. Jekyll Island is our favorite. Great wide beaches and nice size waves. Usually pretty uncrowded. We've stayed at the Comfort Inn right on the beach for between $70 -$130/ night depending on the date of stay.

It's about 3.5 hours from there to WDW. Closer to WDW we like New Smyrna Beach. It can get pretty crowded though.

We are flying but are renting a car, don't think we want to go as far as Georgia but looks like a great place, thanks for the suggestion.

Ponce Inlet is a nice beach for surfing and boogie boarding. It is just south of Daytona Beach and Lighthouse Point Park at Ponce Inlet offers $5 parking and clean restrooms and showers. It is just over an hour from Orlando, so we drove and I'm glad we did.

I'll 2nd the recommendation for Ponce Inlet. Although I couldn't tell you where you could stay as we have family that live on the inlet. Nice quiet area, clean beaches, no crowds (at least in late April).

We are also leaning towards an Atlantic Beach for a couple days prior to Disney. My brother stayed at Wyndham Ocean Walk Resort on Daytona Beach last year and they loved it. He said there was no driving on the beach where the resort is located and there is also a lifeguard booth right there. There is no lifeguard at the beach at Disney's Vero Beach resort, only at the pools.
