My kids whine that bore now. Drive by there school nothing but a sheet of ice. I glad there no school tomorrow.

I can't get out of my drive to see that there is no food:scared1: We are starting to get a little loopy and we don't even drink!

Someone sent me the pic on Facebook. I knew immediately where I had to share it! :rotfl:

It is SO wrong that my kids are HOMESCHOOLED and haven't had class all week. Okay, yes we HAVE done schoolwork at home, but their co-op classes are cancelled again tomorrow. :teacher:

And I went to the pet store and they were out of crickets for our lizard. The truck hasn't come in this week. (I guess I never thought about crickets coming on a truck. Thank goodness we stockd up on dog food when we stocked up on milk!) At least we got mail today.

I think I have never, even in the Blizzard of '93, seen snow on the ground for so long. I forget it's there, and I look out the window and am all, "Whoa! White stuff on the ground!" lol. But I'm done now. The kids are even tired of playing in it. Of course, if it were actual snow I think they might still like it, but it's all ice. DD12 and her friend had an ice ball fight; not really all that fun.

Also, as a pp posted, we don't have lots of winter clothes. Neither of my girls even owns a heavy coat. I have gloves that are 20 years old and my coat is almost that old. I don't have enough really warm clothes for this many days of 20 and under. It's going down to 15 tonight. I have no clue what I'll wear tomorrow. I'm out of sweaters! LOL

We ventured out to Target yesterday and it had plenty of food. But our trip to Kroger a different story...it was out of meat, milk and eggs. Had plenty of bread though.

I went out yesterday and headed to Walmart. I can see why schools were closed again. Our bus stop was still full of snow and ice. Many of the roads were still icy.

Walmart had been able to get a few deliveries so they were busy restocking shelves. Alot of the shelves were still empty. It was extra crowded and took me forever to shop. I was able to get us the basics so we are good until early next week.

I slid my way to Publix and they were still picked over. I walked thru the chips aisle and it was nearly empty. The Coke truck must've made it in because that area was fully stocked. There was also more meat than I expected to see which is what I went there for. The bakery aisles were slowly being restocked. The parking lot was an icy mess. It's shady there all day.

My husband went back to work for half a day yesterday and all day today. Thank goodness. I took the kids to their friends houses for a couple of hours yesterday which was wonderful.

I'm really happy it's warming up. I can't wait for this to all melt. :thumbsup2

Bjs had plenty of milk and bread my dh said when he stopped over there on his lunch break.

I haven't checked the other stores because I had enough in the house. These are the times I'm so happy for my deep freeze and I don't have to wait for the store to restock.

The snow pic posted is hilarious.

The Publix in my are finally got one shipment in, they actually had SOME full shelves! I had my cabbie stop me there to get some cash but was THRILLED to fill up his cab with groceries! :cool1:

It's now finally over freezing here and MAYBE we can start digging out. My son is driving me insane...:scared:

:lmao::lmao::rotfl2: There is a very good reason that i live in the Deep South. We get 1" of snow every year and have a coupla days off. Then we're all back to normal. Except for every 10 years when we get one of these ice storms and everything goes to hell for a week. If i had live in Minnesota or Wyoming I would completely lose my mind!

ROFL! LOVE the pic! i hit day 4 on day 3! DD has been out of school this entire week, and i'm sure our school board will schedule it to be made up during spring break. so much for our vacation!
on a happier note-we got out today and ran errands. grocery shopping at super wal-mart, which was surprisingly UN-crowded for a late friday morning, and although the produce and bread were sort of low, everything else seemed to be in adequate supply. we got milk and chips at aldi, and the store didn't look understocked. DH has been working his full shift since wednesday night, and has had no trouble getting back and forth, even with the super cold temps-he works about 35 miles away.

My girls got out the beach toys and built "snow" castles.

awww thats so cute...! ;)
Here's what we made 2 days after Christmas....
but instead of sandpails/castles, we used our cars as molds lol
