Okay. I have enough Marriott points for a courtyard or fairfield inn (10,000). I want to use it on my way to Orlando. We are driving from St. Louis, MO. I figured we stay iovernight n a hotel somewhere outside of downtown ATL in route to Orlando. I am looking for a hotel that is off the highway (within a mile), with free parking and some kind of complimentary breakfast. According to freetrip.com - the next town is Hopeville, GA - and it has a Courtyard - free parking but no breakfast - and if at all possible an outdoor pool. I found Fairfield Inn & Suites Atlanta Airport South/Sullivan Rd in College Park, GA - is this hotel close to the highway? I can't tell. Any other help is highly appreciated.

We are using our points for a free room at a Fairfield Inn in Warner Robins, south of Atlanta, on our way down to Disney in June. We have stayed here before and it was clean, I would have walked out if it weren't. Check out Trip Advisor for the reviews and directions!

I used to live in Warner Robins. Be careful, parts of the city are not safe, especially at night. And then there is this about bed bugs in the area. http://www.macon.com/2012/04/21/1998737/bedbug-infestations-not-uncommon.html#storylink=misearch

Is this hotel past downtown? I'm trying to avoid the downtown traffic - well, we are leaving on Saturday - so maybe their traffic might not that bad on Sat. Morning. This is 2 hours south of ATL. I was thinking 10 - 20 miles past ATL.

Warner Robins is about 90 min south of Atlanta. Traffic in and around Atlanta is bad all the time, especially around the airport area.

Do you mean Hapeville?

That Fairfield Inn is near I 85, what highway will you be using? I use I 75 going to Orlando.

You can avoid traffic by not travelling during the week during the rush hours, meaning Monday thru Friday 7:30a to 10am, 12pm to 2pm and 4pm to 7pm.

yes Hapeville. I'm using 75 too. how far is this from 75?

I've stayed multiple times in the Residence Inn at Macon. You take the highway through town instead of the bypass, but there isn't much difference. The hotel is right off the interstate.

I'd go below Atlanta for safety reasons. The ones I would recommend close to town are going to be out of your way.

I stayed once at the Residence Inn in Marietta, but can't remember how far around 285 it was.

Be prepare to spend in Atlanta. Because I swear the unofficial speed limit is 100 mph and above. LOL

Not far, you'll have to go north to 75/85 and go south on 75 from there.

You won't have any safety issues in Atlanta, please.:rolleyes2 Marietta is off of I 75 if you want to go to a hotel in that area.

You should have no issues with traffic at all on Saturday morning, unless there is construction. Check before travelling. Good luck!

You should check tripadvisor. I usually check that website out before planning a hotel stay. It's website here people review their hotel stats withpictures! Good luck!

kennesaw,ga

we always used to stay at the springhill suites, two double beds, pull out sofa, microwave, mini refridge and complementary bkft (make your own waffles) we haven't stayed in a couple of years

it is right across the street from kennesaw state university, there is also a fairfield inn and residence inn right next to each other just about 2 blocks off 75

How about this one. It is right off of I-75 on exit 221 which is about a 20-25 min drive past downtown Atlanta. There is a Target on that exit if needed and many restaurants. The hotel has free breakfast of Ham, Egg and Cheddar Breakfast Quiche and Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwich but there is a Truett's (Chick-fil-a) and McDonalds close by.

The Fairfield Inn off Sullivan Rd is too far off of I-75. You would have to get off of I-75 and then to I-85 and then to get back on I-75 you would have to get on I-85 to I-285 to I-75. Way too confusing if you don't know the roads. plus that hotel is right by the airport. Really nothing around it but more hotels.

There is really no traffic going through the city on Saturday unless that is a large event or a number of events. Sometimes they are doing road work and you may have delays from that because they will close lines to do a large part during the weekend.

I used to drive from Warner Robins to McDonough for my knee surgeon. The area is really nice, not too crowded and has a lot of places to eat and shop. This is probably a good hotel to try.

The Fairfield Inn in Warner Robins is in a nice area. I'm sure every town has its bad parts, but I would not have stayed if I didn't feel safe. It wasn't too far off I75, it was near an Applebee's and a Chili's (not sure if it was Chili's or O'Charley's... it was one of the chain restaurants) plus gas stations and other strip mall type stores, very convenient.

Hope your trip is safe and you have a great time!

I'm in the Atlanta area, and we often drive from the suburbs into town for various fun things on the weekends. I agree with PP's that, unless there is road construction going on, there is NOT a lot of traffic on the interstates on the weekends.

The north side of Atlanta on 75 is a nicer area than the south side; the area of Hapeville that is right off the interstate is a relatively industrial area and is somewhat deserted since a very large Ford plant shut down there. So, if I were you I would look for something along 75 just north of the city; try putting in Vinings, Smyrna, or Marietta, as those are all suburbs but still very populated and therefore likely to have several Marriott properties from which to choose.

There are some really nice Marriott-brand hotels in the city, but often you're going to pay to park at a hotel that is in the city; my experience has been that parking fees are less common at the suburban hotels--I guess that's true for most cities!

I would second the Kennesaw stop. It is about 20 minutes north of Atlanta. But it is a good area. A mall with a disney store is a few miles away, plus there is a lot of restaurants in the area too.

The one off 221 is good too. That is about 20 minutes south of Atlanta.
