We are scheduled for a 4:30 flight on August 30. Not only is this a Friday it’s a Friday of a 3 day weekend. Do you think arriving at the airport 2 hours ahead of time is doable. The next flight isn’t until 7:45 but I would switch to it to avoid the stress of cutting it close.

Who is “we”? Do you have small children? Adults with mobility issues?

Is it at all possible to show up 2 1/2 hours before? That would make me more comfortable, but if not, I'd probably still show up 2 hours before and not worry about it (any more than I would any other time).

Where are you trying to get to Hartsfield from? There is a lot of stuff going on in downtown Atlanta that weekend so if you are coming from the Northside of the metro Atlanta area, I would allow some extra time to get to the airport.

Thank you. I meant 2 hours actually at the airport to get thru tsa and such. I live North if Atlanta and was planning on 1.5 - 2 hours to get to airport. To be safe I’m rebooking to the later flight. Thank you for the advice. I forgot all about Comic-con going on.

I’d much (much) rather be driving through ATL for a 2:30pm target arrival at Hartsfield vs a 5:45pm target arrival at Hartsfield.

It’s not the airport/TSA that scares me the Friday of a holiday weekend, it’s the Connector!

Totally agree getting to airport will be more of hassle than tad line. Definitely wouldn’t want to have to go to airport during rush hour.

I’d think it’d be worse waiting later, in my experience at ATL. I’ve flown out on the first day of Spring Break 3 times in recent years and that was crazy.

While Dragon-Con will be going on it shouldn’t effect security since they are all coming INTO the city.

Are you driving yourself? Where are you parking? Construction on the south side of the terminal is causing problems. I’ve been dropping and picking up family this summer but I only use the North side of the terminal even when flying Delta (South).

My last flights were out of the International terminal and it is awesome! (Best part for me is I’m 20 minutes from the airport most of the time.)
