I thought we could all check in for some support during this time. Maybe share some snack/meal ideas to get us through this two weeks of commitment!!

I am on day 2 and doing fine. I am checking out my recipe books for ideas for snacks. I worked out today and that went pretty good. I was weaker because I am just getting over the flu. I figured the workout would help. IT DID!!

Anyway, anybody else in the same boat?? :boat:

Hi Michelle.
I'm not in induction right but wanted to wish you good luck. I am doing the south beach diet so I know that during the first 2 weeks it can be tough. Stick it out though. Your body goes through alot of changes during this period and you may have some rough days. Once those changes are done though I know at least in my case, I've felt better than I had in years. Keep atkins friendly snack around so your not tempted to snack on something else. Don't wait until your hungry to eat. It takes less food to keep you satisfied than to get you satisfied. If you haven't already, I would look at the other low carb, reduced carb diets like South Beach Diet, the Zone, Weight Watchers Core and others. They all look at things a little bit differently and I am doing a combination plan right now after looking at the plans. Stick with it. You can do it.

Thanks Johde-I have done this before and I was ready with some snacks. I am going major grocery shopping today, so I know the rest of the time will be better. I am getting tired of eggs and it is only day 3!! I will stick it out, because I know I can do this and I deserve it!!

I had the headache yesterday about 3 pm until I went to bed. I woke up very groggy and tired, but I worked out again today, and I feel much better!Talk to you later!

I'm in PHase I of South Beach....let's just say that I lost my temper very easily today with DD's and the dog! I am on Day 3 as well.

My headaches are less today than yesterday--but still there.

I'm waiting to feel good. I run, so I actually use beans for my carb staple. I don't feel as hungry as I did back last July/August when I did phase I. That time was 5 days of pure heck and detox.

Grumble grumble! I'm a junkie I tell ya!

Hi, I'm on day 8 of induction. The first 3 days I felt miserable. I had dull headaches and just felt tired and miserable. Then on the 4th day, I woke up with so much energy and felt great. As of today, I still feel loaded with energy, my appetite left me and sometimes I have to force myself to eat. I'm following induction pretty much to the "t" and as of yesterday (day 7) I'm in ketosis. I only lost 2 lbs so far, but, from what I've been reading on the internet, in a few days or so, I should be looking at the scale go down alittle. As for snack, I make a few deviled eggs which are pretty good to just grab and eat. I'm eating too low on the veggies, and I know I need to get them up, that may be another reason I'm not losing more lbs. Glad you started this thread and hopefully we'll be able to check in and give each other support. Another good snack idea is cream cheese and celery sticks, cheese cubes and olives. Well good luck to all of us....

Sounds like you are doing great!! I think tomorrow will begin the "surge"!!

I found if I didn't eat enough cooked veggies, my weight stalled. I am making sure to stick to it like I did last time. Hopefully it will go as well as it did then!

Glad to see you!! :wave2:

Hi I just started Induction this morning. I hope to get thru the next 7 days by thinking about what the scale said this morning. My Sister is on south beach so I tryed turkey bacon for the first time not that long ago I love it with my eggs in the morning. Good Luck to every one :goodvibes

Excellent!!! Be careful of the headache and tiredness!! Stick it out and know you will feel excellent when you are thru!!

I lost 11 pounds when I first did Atkins during Induction! (I had 50 pounds to lose then!)
Good Luck!! :teeth:

Hi all, just checking in to see how everyone is doing. For me, its so far so good, although, I didn't weigh myself this morning yet. I'm having such a HARD time getting the water down. I just can't seem to do it. Yesterday, I had a slight snack attack, but, I was good and had 2 stick cheeses. That seemed to do the trick, thank goodness. I'm on day 10 of induction and while I know I didn't lose a ton of weight, like most people do on induction, I'm going to stick with it. I'll probably stay on induction for an additional week or two and see how it goes. I'll let you all know if the scale goes down in numbers after the BIG WEIGH-IN. Good luck everybody.....

HI!! :wave2: Day 5 of induction...going good! I won't weigh in until Friday (my official weigh in day) but I really feel great anyway!!
Good job on the cheese sticks...how much are you planning on losing?
I did my ketosis strip this morning and I am just over the middle marker. Not bad, I will see how it goes, because this was my first time testing.

Anyway, have a wonderful day!! :flower:

I am re-inducting starting tomorrow (well today!). I did Atkins for 6 weeks last summer and lost 20 pounds. I have 40 or so to go. I felt better than I had in my entire life when I was on Atkins but it's so hard to get back on. I am glad this thread is here. :flower: I want to lose 20 pounds by our trip (slightly less than 3 months away).

Hi, Last night I made the crustless quiche thats in the atkins book. It was sooo good that I was questioning if it was truley induction food. After inquiring on the atkins site, they told me it was. It was absolutely delicious. I tweeked it alittle with pepparoni and mushrooms, but still stayed within the carb count. My dh loved it. Pretty easy to make. My dd, who hates everything, also loved it. If you don't have the book and are interested, let me know and I'll post the recipe.
My diet is going pretty good. I tried on a few of last years summer clothes and some are starting to fit. Maybe I'm losing some inches. I didn't measure myself beforehand, I should have. Anyway the scale doesn't really seem to be moving, but, after all this eating, I'm not gaining, so at least I'm happy about that. I'm still having trouble drinking all the water. I've been buying Fruit2 0, which is really good, but, I'm drinking it like its water (he he), and its not that cheap. I'd love to lose around 15lbs. but, I'd take losing whatever I can at this point. Hope everyone has good luck on the scale today...

I would love the recipe. Is this in the Atkins cookbook or DANDR? I cannot find my copy of DANDR and I hate to buy another copy but I think I am going to have to. Of course, I will likely find it soon after doing so :sad2: LOL

Wish me luck - day one!!! :flower:

4 oz nitrate-free bacon
1/2 yellow onion
6 eggs
3/4 cup of heavy cream
2 boxes frozen spinach/brocoli, thawed and squeeze dried
1/2 lb. gruyere cheese, shredded
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Heat oven to 350
Butter a 9 in. deep pie plate
In a large skillet over meium heat, cook bacon til crisp. Drain on paper towel
Remove all but 1 tablespoon of bacon drippings from skillet. Add onion and cook 5 min. til sof, but not brown.
In a large bowl combine eggs, cream,brocoli/spinach, cheese, salt & pepper. Stir in Bacon bits.
Pour mixture into prepared pan and bake 1 hr. 15 min. Tent with tin foil. When knife inserted in center comes out clean, its done.

I used mozarella cheese instead of the gruyere. When I was frying up the onion I also threw in the mushrooms with them, til they were soft.

In the bowl mixture I threw in a few slices of cut up pepparoni and mixed it all together.

I found that mine was ready, in 1 hour, not 1hr. 15 min. So just keep checking to make sure it doesn't get too dry. I thought it was a yummy meal and very easy to make.

(I can never find nitrate free bacon, so I just use the regular one)

Enjoy.....

Thank you! Looks delish :) Which book did you find that in?

dg39: Thanks also for the recipe!! I'm making it tonite!!

Quick update: I am trying to lose 20 pounds to bring me back to goal...I weighed this morning...

DOWN 5 POUNDS!! :cheer2:
I started Sunday, but my weigh day every week is Friday, and then measurements are every other Friday.

I'm so excited!!

Jenr812: good luck today--you can make it!! Before you know it, you will feel great!!

I wonder how everyone else is doing???

Have a super day!!

That's awesome Michelle ! Congrats! I did pretty good yesterday til I had a piece of chocolate fudge cake at DH's gram's bday party. But I'm not letting it discourage me!!!

 Hi Everyone! :)

I just went through my 2-week induction. It was strange, this time around although I was a bit grumpy during my sugar withdrawal; I didn't get the headache.

I'm on day 20 and pretty much still only eating induction food with the addition of a few strawberries with heavy cream. My best snack during induction was sugar free Jello. I know it's not on the list of foods but, I learned last time that it does not slow down my loss.

I am down 15 pound in 20 days and feel very motivated.

Good Luck!! You CAN do this!

Hi all, everyone seems to be doing great. As for me, well, I haven't eaten anything thats not on the allowed induction list so far. Weight is still clinging to me, but, it's TOM and hopefully when it ends I'll see a few lbs. lost on the scale. To tell you the truth this is one of the few times that I'm actually glad its TOM, because I've been blaming my slow loss on it. Today, I'm going to eat close to the 20 carbs of veggies. I haven't been getting all the veggies in. I'm hoping that makes a diff. too. I didn't have breakfast yet, I'm not so hungry. I don't know if thats a good thing or bad. Well again, good luck to everyone with their loses.

P.S.: Did I mention that I HATE drinking WATER....UGH....
