Did anyone actually give up caffeine? I have cut back significantly but have not given it up totally. I cut back from 5- 6 cups a day to 1 or 2. Just curious if that has "stalled" anyone. I haven't weighed myself yet (going on week 3). I get weighed next week and I am wondering if I should cut it out altogether.

I will have to admit that I did not even cut back on it whatsoever, and it did not stall me out.

It is my understanding that Atkins wants you to give up caffeine because it "can" cause blood sugar spikes and/or cravings <b>not</b> because it can stall your loss.

I did not give up my caffeine and neither did my husband. I have had no cravings at all and neither has he.
 
I still have some caffeine early in the day. But I notice that I am now VERY sensitive to the effects of caffeine -- and have alot of trouble sleeping if I have any in the afternoon or evening.

Have to add that Diet Rite Cola ROCKS! No caffeine and no aspartamene either. It is sweetened with splenda.

I didn't give it up, I don't think I can. I love my cup of tea and coffee every day. I do try to drink decaf too.
My pants are getting bigger and the stick says I'm in ketosis, so I don't think it matters too much.
 
I gave up caffeine totally. I went through severe withdrawals. Now even a little caffeine in a Diet Coke makes me jittery.
 
I dont' drink sodas at all, but I do love my coffee, so I've switched to decaff for a few weeks just while I go thro Induction.

I really miss my lattes tho - can you make a decent one with watered down cream or soy milk??
