Reading another thread, all these Atkins foods for breakfast-especially the breakfast bars-sound so yummy! I'm sick of eggs for breakfast (only thing about Induction I'm bored of). Would I have to graduate to O.W.L. to have them, or can I eat them and keep my total carbs under 20/day so I'm still on Induction? I've always liked breakfast bars.

I'm pretty sure the bars, etc... are not on the allowed food list for induction. If you want to try them you should move on to OWL. Try something different for breakfast. Ummm, I'm not sure what to suggest as I too am having a hard time coming up w/ different things. A couple of times I have had left-overs from the night before... cold pork chop and some cheese or something along those lines. I know you can only do so much w/ eggs. Try an omlette w/ different veggies or meat added. It can change the taste quite a bit.

Occasionaly for breakfast I will slice some tomatoes and sprinkle feta cheese and broil it for a few minutes for a change at breakfast

This seems to vary. On the Atkins.com website the breakfast bars are allowed and they are allowed in at least one book I have read.

I have actually been eating them and I think I am in "modified induction". I started January 1 and have pretty much stuck to the induction foods, but I have had a few glasses of wine and several of the Advantage bars and breakfast bars. I travel a lot and it is not always possible to find an Atkins friendly breakfast.

My weight loss may not be as fast as some people's, but that is OK. It did not get on overnight either.

The bars sometimes knock people out of ketosis, I don't know why. I eat them and I'm not having a problem.

Some other things I try for breakfast:

Keto hot cereal - kind of an oatmeal consistency. I buy the apple cinnamon or banana nut.

Atkins muffin mix - I make the muffins - usually the banana nut or orange cranberry because they have the lowest carb count.

Keto cold cereal - a couple of my friends hate them but I'm ok with them.

Steak - hey, I'm not picky. A thin small steak sometimes makes me a lot happier than anything else.

Good luck!

I think the Advantage Bars ARE allowed on Induction, but the Endulge Bars aren't. But I think even the Advantage Bars may not be the best thing for everyone, like Bailymouse said.

Have you tried the "Mock Danish" for breakfast? My dh loves it and so does my sil. The recipe is on our Healthy Eating board and you will find it HERE

I have been know to eat lunch for breakfast. Reheated shrimp scampi, cheese burger, left over chicken tenders :)

You don't have to eat eggs for breakfast you know. Use your imagination :teeth:
