Food was great, service excellent except for the bus boy who was uninterested and never looked at us when he spoke or was around. Shrimp on the skewers are not as large as I remember but still have that peppery flavor. Went at 6:30 on a Saturday night and wasn't rushed at all.

Curious as to the menu. Did they have the WonTon chips and sauces? Did they have the potatoes? And lastly what about the Bread Pudding with Bananas Foster sauce? We are still waiting to hear about the current menu changes before making an ADR. We love Ohanas but don't wan't to see some of our favorites go.

We were there first week of January. Wonton chips already gone but the sauces were still there. We were told that menu changes were coming and that the wonton chips are gone and that the appetizer shrimp will be going. He mentioned something else also but I don't remember. DD (18) was having a hissy fit about the shrimp.

Those hissy fits are wonderful. Mine are 19 and 21. The fun has just begun. Both being sons they tell me that men dont have hissy fits. They do they just call them something else. Anyway one of DS just informed me that if they changed things to much at Ohana he isnt sure he wants to go with us this spring. My 12 year old DD is just fine with this. The 19 year old knows better than to enter into discussion since classes get in the way of him joining us.

My almost-9year old is basically a kids' meal kid-- she survives on peanut butter, chicken nuggets and pizza.

Is there anything at O'Hana for her to eat?

Just got back from our trip - we ate at Ohana's last Wed evening.

The appetizer shrimp is still there, the shrimp on the skewers is still there (and peppery!) - and the bread pudding with sauce - YUM! Did not get any wontons. Oh yeah - yummy potatoes still there too.

We really enjoyed the food! We were not seated near the window for the fireworks, but just went over to the window with the kids to watch them. The music for the fireworks was piped in. We were not rushed at all by any of the staff. They were very nice and joked with us a lot (which we like).

We had 3 kids with us - ages 6 and 4 - and they ordered off of a kids menu - I forget how many choices they had. One of my DD's ordered a cheese burger and fries, the other ordered grilled cheese and friese. It's very possible that chicken fingers was one of the choices. One of my DD's like wings and shrimp - so I passed her some of that.

Anyone eat there in Feb yet? I know it's a bit early to ask but we're having our wedding reception dinner there and I want to make sure there weren't any drastic changes. :goodvibes

So the rice isn't back? I can get potatoes anywhere but you can't find rice hardly anywhere in the world and 'Ohana had awesome rice.

And if those stuffed wontons come back, I'll have to consider removing my self-imposed ban on 'Ohana.

My son is going to be terribly upset that the wonton chips are gone, that was his whole reason for wanting to go to Ohana. Oh what to do, what to do?

If you discuss this with your waiter when you are seated they will normally find out what she wants and accommodate her accordingly...from what I hear they are somewhat accustomed to having special requests from children...I think they share a kitchen with Kona.

Mine have had chicken fingers and fries the two times we went. Not nuggets but with the chicken fingers work?

Glad you had a good experience! We ate there in Nov. and again in Jan. and didn't have any problems with food or service. One of our favorites! :thumbsup2

We went Feb. 2. Potatos still there, no wantons, smaller shrimp on skewers. Bread loaf, Steak, pork, turkey also on skewers. Salad still there. Appetizer shrimp and chicken wings still there.Bread pudding still there. Didn't care for skewered shrimp as much as old ones, don't really know why.

Don't really care about anything but the bread pudding - I want some on Saturday.

I went there last night and had a great dinner!
the waiter kept apologizing because it was the first night of the "new" menu and the cooks and servers didn't know the correct order to bring the food out in. I would think they would have thought that out by then!

Nevertheless we enjoyed our meal-

My DBF and I were unable to put a dent in it!
so for a run down here is what we got (I do not remember the exact order)
Pineapple/coconut bread
salad
dumplings w peanut sauce
sesame wings
cheesy potatoes
string beans and broccoli
meats with three sauces
and the banana bread pudding w/ foster sauce- YUMM
we are not big eaters so we were overwhelmed with the portions!

we were not rushed at all but we also were there at 5.

Boma was still our favorite though!!!

:confused3

Still debating on this one!!!!! The food looks good but the bad reviews lately are really really bad. Thanks for the good review!! The food looks okay :confused3
