ATA has changed my seats AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am hopeful that if we get on the frequent flier program for ATA, maybe we can have even a little bit more pull. I know when i did this for Loews Hotels it did not do a whole lot.

Don't count on getting "extra pull" just because you join their program. I don't know about ATA but most airlines only give special perks to frequent flyers who meet a certain # of miles or # of trips per year. For example, I've been flying with Northwest recently because of business trips from PIT to MSP. They reserve the best seats in the front to their elite members, which means a minimum of 25,000 miles or 30 flights in a year. If they are not booked by the date of the trip, anyone can have them when they check-in. I've been doing online check-in and have been able to snag one. I have a trip 4/10 to 4/15, I don't have assigned seats either way, all the regular seats are taken, they are still holding many preferred seats.

I do have doubts about any pull. If they would have left my seats alone that i reserved, then i wouldn't think twice about it, but since they have screwed them up TWICE in only 16 days, I am a little frustrated. Right now i am really wondering if ATA's computer just defaults our seats to the back or if someone has gained access to my codes that am not aware of and is screwing with my mind. LOL

That's wierd, our time was 5:55 and now it's 7 something! Yeah, they can't move other people...but it was okay to move us. And here I was telling everyone in the beginning to stick with ATA so they wouldn't go under. :sad2:

When I called a week ago, after the first seat change, I was told that the schedule was to stay at the departure of 5:55pm from MCO- home. I thought that was cool, but then they started messing with it again. So as of 4/2/05 the departure from MCO is 7 something. I can't guarantee what it will be tomorrow.

I totally agree about the agents not being able to move seats, but they can move yours and mine! Something does not add up here.

They changed the times for my return flight too!!! It went from leaving about 5 to leaving at 7:15!! I also went from row 9 to 27. Seems weird doen't it? I have called for the thrid time this morning and they gave me the sam speel that they are not authorized to move seats for other people once they have been placed. This is BS because they have moved my seats 2 times for other people! And they also told me that the seats aren't guaranteed until check in which is also BS. That is why I booked ATA instead of SWA....because I don't like suprises like that.

It is not BS that the seats are guranteed until check in. Up until then all you have is a seat request. They can and will move you and part of the reason they do is for folks like Barb with lots of loyalty to them. AirTran will also do all kinds of fun things if they decide to change the schedule because part of that could be that they actually reduced the number of flights so now they have to get the folks on the cancelled flight home.

Also, for the mom traveling with the baby. Ask then to "link" your tickets. I know Delta can do this so that even though they aren't on the same ticket it will show with you when they do move you. (That is a real risk with a solo ticket! They can easily think that "It won't be a big deal to give this person a seat in the next row so I can get the family together")
