Just to let anyone know that has reservations with ATA that they have made some schedule changes. We are scheduled to go from Indianapolis to Orlando on December 17 and return on December 26. I was checking our flights yesterday and the times had changed. What they had done was take away our flight time and reassigned us to another flight. I called them and they said yes some adjustments had been made in scheduling and asked if we wanted to stay where we had been reassigned. My understanding is that if you wanted a different time they would let you change, but once you give your okay no changes can be made without a fee. It affected both our going and returning flights. We will be getting there about 5 hours later and coming home about 5 hours earlier. Not my first choices but hey I'm going to Disney for Christmas!

Hey thanks for the info! I went and checked my flights from IND to MCO and back on December 15 and December 23. They both had been changed. I gave them a call and they let me change my outgoing flight on 12/15 to an earlier one. I had been on the 10:15 am flight that they changed to leave 5 hours later. Now I am on the 8:50 am.

Another big thank you from a fellow Hoosier. I was booked for IND-MCO on Saturday, December 11 leaving on the 5:05 p.m. flight. When I checked my reservation, I found that ATA had changed the flight to leave at 5:45 p.m. instead which doesn't seem like a big change but it was going to get us into MCO almost an hour later than originally scheduled. Because of reading your tip about the changes, I was able to call ATA and rebook for the now 3:45 p.m. flight instead which now gets us in slightly earlier than our original flight and I feel pretty confident we can keep our first night itinerary plans!

Our return trip from MCO-IND on Friday, December 17 was moved up from an 8:30 p.m. departure to 7:25 p.m. I wasn't very happy with this because I like to have as much Disney time as possible on the last day but since it's the last non-stop flight out, I didn't change it.

Again, thanks so much for the info. It really helped me out.

Glad I could help out - I just didn't want someone to not know about it and then not be able to get the flight they really wanted. I was surprised that they didn't generate emails to all the people who had changes.

yes thank you when i look i have 4 flights 2 depart and 2 arrive my original and then another one what does that mean?

That's how mine was when I first pulled it up. The top one was my original flight and the second is the one they have put you in. Once you call and okay or choose a different flight the first one will disappear.

Just to "warn" other Indy-based ATA travelers...

This happened to us too for our December 7 and 12 flights (IND to MCO and MCO to IND), but our flight numbers stayed the same. We were not put on different flights, but the TIMES for both of our flights changed. (We came home Monday to a recorded message on our answering machine alerting us to the changes.)

Just because your flight numbers haven't changed doesn't mean that you shouldn't check your departure times carefullly!

I certainly am glad that someone is looking out for us because I haven't heard a word from ATA and my flights for early December have changed as well. IND-MCO-IND. Puts us there an hour later, thereby eliminating the possibility of a MVMCP that night and brings us back an hour earlier. Thank you for sharing with us..........I certainly wouldn't have thought to check so early!!

I called and checked my flight times today with ATA and my flight from MDW to MCO was pushed back 15 min and my flight home wasn't affected at all. I'm glad I asked about my seats though. I called last week after Inkognito posted that the seat assignments changed and I confirmed then what my seats were. Well, today I decided to ask her again and it turns out they changed my seat assignments again and they now have my 6 year old twins sitting by themselves and DH DMIL and I are several rows away. She made a note in their computer system that they'll have to correct this when we get to the airport or else someone's going to have to listen to my 2 kids scream all the way to Orlando!

On a related note. If you already have pre-assigned seats on flight, make certain that you are checking your reservations daily or at least every other day. We have had types of planes changed on us twice now within a months time, and each time our group was systematically split-up on the new plane.
