At what point is your selection reserved?

Hi all,
I'm wondering at what point your ADR is even temporarily reserved? Is it as soon as you click the time? Or not until you're at the confirmation page?
Is there a chance of clicking the time but then finding out the time is actually gone whilst you're going through the booking process?
Same with BBB?

Thank you!

Bah I was worried that would be the case...thank you
If you're concerned about the time it takes to book, don't spend any time linking the other guests. Just enter the name of the primary guest (presumably yourself) and then carry on to the confirmation. You can add the other guests at any time afterwards. If you have a large party, especially, that might make a difference.

I’ve never had a ADR sniped out from under me while booking and I have seen some evidence that it does put a record lock on the time once you select it. For example I have selected a time for a ressie and then had either the web page or the app crash before it confirms. When I go right back in the time I selected is usually gone but if I check back in 15-30 mins it’s back.

I’ve lost them even with clicking through fairly quickly, especially hard to get. ☹️

It's worth checking in about 20 minutes and a few times beyond that, up to about an hour.
I've had reservations I thought I'd missed out on magically appear.
