At what point does the concierge contact you?

When I made a reservation for AKL concierge, I was asked how I wanted to be contacted by the concierge. So, that implies to methat I will be contacted in advance. How long in advance does this happen? I am hoping it is at the six-month mark, so that he/she can make ADRs for me.

We are staying at AKL in October and I had to contact them first.

Our last 3 trips we have always been contacted within a day or so after making the reservation. I would say if you haven't heard from them about a week or so before your 180 day mark, I would contact them.

I used to always get a mailing from them about 2 to 3 months prior to our stays, however this time I got an email within a week or so of making the reservation ...which was 5 or 6 months before our stay!!

They made our reservations for a Segway tour and the Sunrise Safari (I made my own dining reservations later). They have been great about answering questions re the construction, etc

I made my reservation last November for January 2008 at the BWI. I got an email from the planning office on June 15, approximately 20 days before my 180-day mark. I did not contact them first.

For my families upcoming reservation at the Contemporary their IPO Cast Members e-mailed us 1 or 2 days before our ADR window opened up in February, however we had made the room only reservation back on December 25, 2006.

For our stay this December at the Polynesian which was made on February 6, 2007 we were never contacted by their IPO Cast Members at all.

Since we never make ADR's at 180 days out it's not that big a deal and the only request we have is a half a grapefruit for my Mom when she has breakfast, since it is not offered with their regular items. Plus we always request it from the Cast Members who work at the Resort on our floor because when we told this to the IPO Cast Members they always put it in their computer, however never shows up on our reservation when we check-in that we had requested it.
