At what age is Haunted Mansion ok for kids?

We took our daughter at 2 years 4 months. She didn't have a problem.

My kids have been riding it since they were babies, and have never been afraid. In fact, its DD's favorite, she loves it. I think they love it because I have never made it out to be scary, I always talk about how cool the ghosts are, and they seem to agree. I remember riding it at a very young age(probably under 5) I have always loved it, just don't make a big deal about it being scary, and they should be fine!

Our DD7 has been going since she was 2 and she loves the ride.

Our youngest has been riding HM since she was a baby, and no problems yet. But we are travelling with friends on our next trip and I dont think their 10 year old will go on it, she didn't like the ghost shooting ride at Nickelodeon at MOA, so no way will she do HM. As others have said, you know your children best and whether or not they are likely to be frightened. But if they don't like HM, I would caution you about the beginning of Pirates of the Caribbean-that may be frightening to them as well.

My son was 5 and my daughter was 2 1/2 years old when they rode it for the first time. No problems.

My DD kept talking about the cute doggie in the ride all day:)

Yea it all depends on your kids. I took my 3 year old on it and she loves it. My 5 year old loves it. My 8 year old likes it but asks me when the popping heads are so she can close her eyes. My 9 year old absolutely hates it and closes her eyes for the entire ride.

DD5 and DS6 have LOVED this ride, and have been on it every year since they were less than two years old!! No matter where we are (AK, DHS), when asked what we should do next, DD says "HAUNTED MANSION!!!!" at least half the time! :rotfl:

That said, DD has also routinely comforted 8 year olds in the stretch room, assuring them that it was "ok... it's all pretend!!". :)

This is my version of the "all kids are different" spiel... :upsidedow

It completely depends on the kid. Some think it's cool, others will freak out. There's no set age. There are adults who won't ride it.

If they are frightened by darkness or loud noises it may be a no-go.

One of the many things I love about Disney is when my DD (who was 5 on our first trip) started to feel a little uncomfortable on a ride she could just close her eyes. Makes it nice that you sit on most of them and don't have to stand holding a child.

I believe it all has to do with the child...

I went on it when I was 6 and was a little scared (but I think more so cause the ride broke down and I was in a buggy with my sister and aunt... not my mom and dad)

I went on again at 10 and was scared but that's because my dad was messing with me and poking me and pointing things out - mild teasing which I was use to but since I was proving to myself I wasn't scared I was a little more hyped up.

I think you're kids, if requesting, will be fine. If it turns out afterwards they're shaken maybe just find a nice, very well lit, place to sit and re-group

It's not THAT scary; at those ages, I think your kids should be fine! Depends on if they get scared at that kind of stuff or not..
