At what age do you remember your first Disney trip?

Planning for a few years in the future when we want to bring DD to Disney for the first time. I went to Disney when I was 3 but don't remember any of it. We went to Disneyland when I was 5 and remember a lot of it. I'd like to take her sometime between 3-5 (post diaper age, with only one or no naps, etc.)

What's that magical age where she'll remember going and want to go back again? :)

I took my kids when they were 2&3. they both talk about it all the time. they are now 4&5.

My first trip was in 1976 when I was 2 1/2 years old. I still have serveral memories from that trip.

I was 3 during my first trip. I loved Big Thunder Mountain. My parents both didn't. I still remember to this day that my mom kept telling me the ride wasn't operating so I would quit pestering her about going again. "Mommy, but I see the training running!" - "That's just Disney testing the train. The ride is not open." I still call my mom on it to this day - especially since it's her favorite ride now LOL

2 and under is free. I took DS when he was 8 months and again at 2 and now again at four. He says he remembers last time we went.

I am 25 and have been going since I was a baby. The farthest back I remember is probably 3 or 4. It's not like I remember every detail but I remember 20,000 leagues being closed. I remember my mom carried me most of the time and now I wonder how she ever did it lol. I remember going with my grandparents. Just little things. Splash mountain. The characters. But I went a few times after that until my parents divorced and we stopped going.

I really believe that ANY age is good. When I told people I was taking my 8 month old to Disney I was basically scorned because he wouldn't remember it. Whatever. He had so much fun and I remember it and have good pictures. I say go whenever and start the traditions. Everyone is different with how good of a memory they have.

Oh my god that's priceless!! My ds4 keeps saying he wants to ride space mountain but he isn't tall enough. I keep telling him this but he goes yes I am I'm a big boy now so I was thinking of telling him it was broken down when we pass it lol.

I took my son for the first time at 3 months. We then took advantage of him being free until 3, we took him approx 7 more times including Halloween and Christmas. We went to Halloween party when he was 2 1/2 and he just asked to go back trick or treating at "mickeys castle" :) and talks about his tris all the time. We took IMO Disneyland this past spring break for cars land, which was awesome!!!

My first trip was when I was 2 (almost 3) years old. I don't remember everything, but I do remember ALL the character meals I attended! I went 3 times from ages 2-10 and character meals are what I remember best - i've always been a huge fan of the "fur" characters.

I'm of the belief that it isn't really about them remembering it. Even at 2 your kiddo will have fun, even if the memories don't stick around. There are always the pictures you take to help form memories too. Since the range you are considering is 3-5, I say 3 :)

I was 7 the first time I went then didn't go again until I was 13. I barely remember the first time. My sister went when she was 2 and 6 and didn't remember either until we went back when she was 12. The memories rushed back to her over the trip :-)

I remember going when I was about 3.5. MK had opened just a few months before. Unfortunately two of the memories that stick out the most are getting terribly sunburned and how scorching hot the red concrete sidewalks were. :rotfl:

But I have a lot of fond, if somewhat hazy, memories as well.

I first went when I was 7 and it was amazing, after too many trips to count later I have to say it was my favorite and most memorable time.

I took my DD when she was 3 and 4 and both times she was scared of a lot of things, anything in the dark, fireworks, anything with fire... But we took my son when he was 4 last year and he was fearless and had a blast, he still talks about it and my DD remembers some from when she was 4. If you take them young make sure you talk about the trip a lot after an look at pics often to keep it in their memory. Every kid is different, I say just take um and have fun.

I remember more from the trip when I was five than when I was three, but the people who took me on the trips sure had more fun when I was three.

I was four, I remember some of it, and it started a lifelong love of the parks.

Now, I was 1 when I first went to Six Flags, and I still love theme parks to this day!

I think the one I remember most was when I was 6 or 7 and it was me, my mom, and my sister. It was fun. I remember eating on a boat for a character breakfast at DTD. They also had this shop that you could pick out all kinds of things and a lasy would decorate it. Me and my sister each got little heart shaped jewelry boxes. We got our name on it with some flowers. I don't remember much from the previous ones. I do still have the tickets with days left that show my mom took me every yr when I was a baby. It took awhile after my parents divorce to go back. I was 5 at the time.
