screaming!!!!!

All day long, it's high pitched screaming!!!
STOP TOUCHING ME!!
THAT'S MINE!!
HE'S NOT TALKING TO ME!!
IT'S MY TURN!!

Please tell me when the screaming stops, not the fighting (I'll be expecting that till they seperate for college), but the screaming!!
Please tell me it's soon!:earseek:

I have a friend who has a 7 year old and a 4 year old. They scream at each other constantly. They're really horrible.

This isn't helping me!!<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_9_7.gif' alt='Crying Into Tissue' border=0></a>

It only gets louder as they get older. DS was quiet when he was little. Now at 11, I'm always telling him to quit yelling and quiet down. Why yell? There's only me and him here.

Mine are 8, 10 and 12, I'll let you know when they stop screaming.

I don't understand...have you tried to stop the behavior? My younger 2 were screamers early on, but they were punished for it and learned quickly that it was unacceptable behavior. If you are waiting for your kids to 'grow out of it' on their own, you may have a long wait. I have a few neighbors with 7-year-olds who are still screamers :earseek: Apparently the moms don't mind, though, because they haven't tried to put a stop to it.

No, I'm sure none of us have ever told our kids to stop yelling. Thanks for the parenting advice, had you not told me to tell them to stop, it would have never occurred to me.

Mine are 15 and 11 . . .and they DO get along for the most part, but once the bickering starts . . . it is soooooooooo incredibly loud and neither one stops until either DH or I say something because they both need to get the last word in . . .

Glad I could help! :teeth:

Kim, I think if you reread the thread you will see people are talking about shouting, not actual screaming.

My kids shout at each other too. While, of course, I stop them - it doesn't stop them from ever raising their voices at each other. I consider it normal sibling behavior and would be concerned if they didn't. I would not want my kids to grow up in a house where raising your voice is not permissable.

I was lucky - I pretty much didn't put up with it, and that along with the kids minding -- there's no constant yelling at the house. They disagree from time to time, but they get along more than don't.

Good luck, and hugs. :)

Now that DS is heading toward three I am going to start punishing them both, no matter who the offender is. I will let you know how that works. "To your room, and sit on your beds" will be the mantra very soon!

I'll take the screaming over the screeching any day.. There is a difference. Screeching has an added edge that you really can't explain, you have to hear it. It goes right up my back and into my neck....

I am imagining that DS4 (the real screecher) and DS6 will continue to scream until they head off to college, at which point I am sure it will immediately stop. At least when they reach puberty, it will lower the pitch to something that everyone else can hear, other than mothers and dogs...:teeth:

I swear when my four year old starts that screeching, his head is going to spin around.
