At what age did your children start pin trading

I have never let my children trade with anyone but CMs.

Most Cms will let you know a bit of background on any pin you have- or at least can tell if it is a more special one by looking at the back (check the back-- if it is LE "limited Edition" it is slightly more valubale. It may say LE of XXXX (number) -- that will give you an idea how many of that pin were made). Then again.. a pin is only as valuable as you make it to be. I never would dream of trading away my Tinkerbell pins (some of them are common rack pins.. found at nearly every pin cart) but could care less about trading out some 101 dalmatain pins(but my DS10 likes those and would hate to part from them)

Starngers may try to trade but you can discourage your children from trading with them.
I know some people believe that if you are wearing a lanyard then you are open to trade... but I only ran in to a sitaution once in my last 4 visits to DL where teens were rude and said "you gotta trade with me!" we said "Not up for trade" and put the lanyards away..
Another option is to have TWO lanyards- one for your "keepers" and the other for "traders".

Buy cheap traders on ebay or cheapins.com (under $3) and you should be fine!
Have fun.. it's a very addicting hobby.. they are th eonly souvniers we buy now.. spending $50-$100 a trip just on PINS!! LOL:crazy:
