At what age did you leave your kids alone overnight?

Now that my almost 16 year old has a boyfriend, I'm going to say never :lmao:

So we just came in from raking leaves & chatting with a neighbor. When he mentioned his daughter, 24, has been a certified sitter since age 14 or so, dh says, "There you go. What a great idea." So we tell him our situation.
He laughed and said, "Really? :confused3 You want a sitter for a 17 yr old? I don't think she would even do that. Isn't he fine for a few days? I came to this country on my own when I was 17.5."
He suggested we only tell 2 neighbors: one a local police officer and the other an FBI agent. Both are across the street, diagonal from us, just for some extra eyes on our house. :goodvibes

that's our situation too, our son has had a girlfriend for a while, don't want to make "things" any easier or more accessible

The summer before DD started her senior year, so she was 17.

As other posters have said, at 17 I was away at college on my own with no cell phone, etc.

This fall we left her for a full week. She is 18, taking college classes and working part time.
