I don't know where to post this. We are here now and apparently the resort cleaning lady accidentally threw away a small piece that goes to my son's nebulizer. He has severe asthma and takes 3 breathing treatments each day. We're here til Tuesday and he can't go that long without a treatment. I have no idea where to get one. We've had this one for years and it was not cheap. Any ideas??

don't know where these are usually sold. Can you access the internet? Search for a medical supply seller nearby. You may need to either get a taxi or arrange with either the business or WDW to have the part or a new nebulizer delivered. See if your insurance will cover it. Have you been to the front desk yet to tell them that the housekeeper has damaged your son's medical equipment? Make sure you go there in person - don't just call.

I would walk to the front desk (don't call) and explain what happened. They can probably get you set up. They handle practically everything and have seen it all. If you get no help, ask for a manager.

As a mom of an asthmatic myself, I did a quick search and I'm hoping this link will help:

this pharmacy says it delivers to WDW - hoping you can work with your dr to tell the pharmacy what you need http://turnerdrug.com/

When we've had medical issues, the front desk has always tried to come up with resources also

Call your insurance company and ask for assistance in finding in network Durable Medical Equipment suppliers in the zip code of your hotel. Then bring the list to the concierge. Explain that housekeeping threw out a piece of medical equipment and ask for their help.

Hope all works well.

There is a Walgreens near DTD - when were in the World my daughter too had an asthma problem and we were able to get a neb there plus some prescriptions after a visit to the emergency room :( I hope it doesn't happen this trip :(

But you can try it at least :)

go to the front desk with the broken nebulizer and explain to them that the piece was thrown out by the staff. They should replace it and get it to you quick!

I would contact the company and see if they can ship one to you overnight...
figure out the insurance part later as I'm sure it would be covered...

On one of my trips, my Continuous Glucose Monitor died like two days before we would leave to go to the cruise and the company overnighted one to me, it arrived literally seconds before we had to board the bus to CC!

I also then needed extra insulin, so ordered it from that pharmacy that is right there....and they deliver!

Good luck!

Where are you staying and what part do you need? We are arriving in Orlando tomorrow evening. If you DM me in the next two hours, I can pack an extra mask for you.

Just Nebulizers will also overnight one to you. If it was just the cup or the mouthpiece, they sell those separately, assuming they carry your model.

I agree that the resort should pay for this.

Can your child use a regular puffer? If so, you can get doc to prescribe puffer(s) and pickup at Walgreens. This is why I need to live by disneyworld, I could have just given you one of our 6000 nebulizers.

When you say a small piece you mean one of the fittings or pieces from the tubing out to the mouthpiece? All of that should be available at drugs stores and be relatively inexpensive and generic. As long as your compressor is sound, you should be able to call around and find a tubing & mouthpiece/mask kit and get a cab or something to go get it or get it delivered.

Good luck, we had a few nebulizer crises while traveling before our daughter got old enough for inhalers.

I went to concierge and they have a medical supply they work with that delivers. It's only going to cost me $6.00! I am so relieved. Concierge faxed a form and the company will call when they get here. Honestly, I'm surprised she didn't offer to pay for it since Mousekeeping threw it away but I didn't want to argue over $6.00. Thanks so much for the quick replies. I wouldn't have went down there had y'all not made that suggestion.

It would be helpful to know exactly which piece you mean - was it to the nebulizer itself, or the tubing?

As others have said, a neb machine can be delievered to your resort fairly quickly by a local respiratory medical supply company. Last time my son had a flare and needed one for school the next day, it was delievered shortly after we got home from the doctor's office the same day. I've never seen them for sale at Walgreen's or elsewhere, but I've never looked, either. Maybe call before you go?

If it's the tubing, you can also ask the respiratory supply company, or go to the local ER or Urgent Care center, explain what happened and ask them if you could buy a tubing. Chances are they will simply give you one. Ask for the charge nurse. Or neptuneflame will being you one tomorrow. (Nice !) If it's just the mouthpiece that's missing, you may be able to substitue something else for that piece temporarily so he can still use it. Same for another piece. Think creatively.

They do also have "doctors on call" at WDW. Maybe just call and ask one of them and they can call someone to say you'll be coming to get some tubing. Just a thought.

Good luck.

Glad it all worked out. Now you and your child can both take a nice deep stress free breath! Enjoy the rest of your vacation.

I just bought new tubing recently when I couldn't find our nebulizer, and was going to borrow one - I was amazed it was only $5!
