At WDW now - FairFX and ATM issue

Hi all,

Sorry if this has been asked before. I am trying to withdraw some money at the Chase ATM on resort, but it keeps declining. I have tried the Savings and Credit options, but it will not work.

I thought I seen a thread a few weeks ago were someone was having the same issue.

Does anyone know if the FairFX card is not compatible with Chase ATMs or what the issue could be?

Try a different ATM. I had issues in July with mine, only my card was declined at the registers. After some faff with the ATM at the resort, it told me that it detected a chip and asked me to insert the card the other way round (back to front, not upside down). I did and it worked. I think I selected credit, but don't recall. There have been ongoing reports about issues with the FairFX the last few months.

How true this I'm not sure but I read that if you've used your FairFX card against your resort room for charging it will be blocked from use anywhere else!

It is true, up to a certain limit. It depends how much you have loaded in the way of funds on the card and how much the resort limit ceiling is. However, I had issues recently with FairFX, but didn't use it to secure charging to my room, so there are other issues going on here.

I've heard of several issues with getting cash out of ATMs, however everything seems to be running smoothly if you just want to use it as a debit card (as I do).

I don't think you can use it at all ATMs.
