At Vero Beach now!

DH & I are here at Vero Beach now on our annual first week of May trip! We have been coming every year since 2006. We always stay in an ocean view inn room. We are in a refurbished room. We love the nice touches. Accents are updated. A lot more storage space for clothes. Bathroom & vanity area looks great! Huge smart TV. I don't think they thought the kitchen set up through, however. Cabinet has very high shelving that I certainly can't reach. The refrigerator has no freezer section. Because they are working on the 4th floor, there is no assess to the ice machine or laundry facilities. You have to go to one of the villa buildings. Once everything is done it should be great! The freezer in the resort store has been down so you can't get ice cream or frozen foods there. We continue to love our Vero Beach Resort! All should well once all the work is done!
 
The refrigerator thing has been happening for at least a couple of years - as refrigerators were being replaced, the old models that included my beloved freezer section were transitioned to newer models that did not include a freezer section. First World problem, I know, but from a convenience perspective, it is really a pain in the neck, not to mention a waste of water because we've got to replenish the ice bucket in the room multiple times per day AND we have to use ice from the machines in the coolers we take with us to the beach/pool every day. In the past, I had reusable cold/ice packs that I could stick in the freezer overnight, or sealed smaller tupperware type containers (the ones that KFC uses for their small sides were a fantastic fit in the studio freezer btw) or I'd freeze a bottle of water to use as an ice pack and drink as it melted.

Also I was at the resort when they installed the new laundry equipment and had to shut down the laundry/ice/vending room. The letter they left in my room directed us to go to a Villas building for ice and laundry needs, but when I mentioned the matter to a front desk cast member they said they had access to an ice machine backstage and were willing/able to get ice for us. So you might want to check with the front desk to see whether this is still something they can do.
 
Yes, we were told that,too. However, when you get to the front desk and have to wait in line behind folks checking in or folks with problems or questions that can be most aggravating for ice. DH has just gone to the villas.
