...thank you again Engr-Chas. Rachel gave the nurse's pin to her nurse today. She had to have her bandage changed and blood drawn at school (long story, but Rachel was in the hospital yesterday afternoon when the nurse usually comes so we had to delay it until today, and she didn't want to try to beat the Friday traffic to get the blood to the lab....wait...that was pretty much the long story...lol!)
Anyway....before her nurse (whose name is Dot) could start anything, Rachel said "Wait! We have a special present for you!" and she whispered to me (rather loudly...lol) "Where's the PIN?" and I whipped it out all pretty in it's ziploc snack bag wrapped in a scott towel (okay, so I was in a rush) and Rachel presented it to Dot. And Dot gave her a big hug and put it right on, and while she was drawing the blood they had a discussion about why Minnie doesn't have her bow in her hair on this pin (because she has a nurse's cap) and how Rachel gave her teacher a Minnie teacher pin on Rachel's birthday...
...and then Rachel launched into this story about the fourth grade being moved back to the elementary school but then the school was too crowded and so they moved the Kindergarted across the bus loop....and it was a very detailed story which was so wonderful for a kid that was living in a fog just a couple of months ago and would hardly talk to the nurse! So there goes that pin magic again!!
Anyway, thanks again Charles. Today was the last day of school and it was a really special one!
