Hello Everyone!
Well, we made it...We arrived yesterday around 11:00am and our room was ready :thumbsup2
Now i understand what people mean when they say the hallways are sooooo long... We're in room 1125, a studio. It is nice though. One thing we did notice is that the lighting in the bathroom is quite dim. We haven't noticed that at any of the other DVC resorts.
When going to our room, we noticed one laundry room near the work-out room. Are there any others?
Made it for the last day of the food and wine festival. Although we enjoyed the various foods, we're making a mental note to arrive earilier to experience some of the shows held here, and to NOT buy the more expensive wines. I'm in Ireland waiting for my liqueur and got a shot glass full at almost $8.00...i'll settle for a Irish coffee in the future. :goodvibes. My wife likes the Moscato's and iced wines and they too are expensive. Oh well.
Listened to a little of Off Kilter, and then headed back to the resort.
Afterward, we went to the hot tub at the quiet pool. Not bad, looks like it could use a referbishment, and more water...was relaxing though.
Going to EPCOT today, Les Chefs de France for lunch at 1pm. Temps look to be in the mid 80's.
Talk with everyone soon :thumbsup2

IRLAND is a balmy 40f at this time I only wish I was in the Disney one .
Enjoy you stay bwv is the place to stay.

My first stay at BWV will be in March '11... so I'm looking forward to reading about your experience.

And I'm sure there is a joke in there... "Gee Hunclemarco just how long are those hallways?" :lmao:

Have a fantastic time!! I remember when you were talking about this trip! :thumbsup2

I was in room 2001 last month so I know all too well just how long those halls can be. And you know it's funny; they NEVER bothered me when I was first going out in the morning. But oh how I dreaded that LONG walk at the end of the day! :rotfl:

Looking forward to hearing more about your trip. Glad you got to experience the Food and Wine Festival even if it was the last day.

Our family has been in rooms 3123 and my son was in 2125. The benefit to these rooms is going out the back door to the walkway to Hollywood Studios or going out the side door to the bus stop. 3123 is a one bedroom with a great balcony.

I've been in 3123 a couple of times over the years. I love the layout of the unit; very different from other 1 BR units. And yes; the balcony is GREAT!

Looking forward to more reports. Unfortunately, that is the only laundry room for members. There is a larger one on the Inn side but it is pay as you go.

popcorn:: subbing. We are staying at BWV in May and I'm quite excited to hear about your experience!

Hello All...
Well, we went to Les Chef's for lunch, and had their lunch special... We chose the French Onion Soup, Ham and Cheese Sandwich, and the Creme Bruelee. We were seated close to the window, so we were able to see the "chair" act. What a great amount of balance these guys must have! Lunch was great. We chose not to do the dining plan, but did get the TIW card. I had the Soup and half of the sandwich, and my wife had the Salad and the other half. She ate most of the Dessert.

We also met our chef...what a cute character he was! This is suppose to be a video format...hopefully this works.

Afterward, we went to a few shops and then back to our room to relax a little. Friends came over for a while after they left, we went to Nine Dragons for dinner. We generally split the General Tso Chicken with Spinach noodles, as we did tonight. Walked back to the Boardwalk. On our way back to the room, all i could think of was the People Mover in TomorrowLand....and how nice it would be that the Boardwalk implements this to their hallways! Oh well, guess we need the exercise! :thumbsup2

I find it easier to walk outside as a short cut instead of through the halls. When I come back from EPCOT we generally will cut through the pool(s) area. It is shorter that way than via the hallways.

Are the BWV hallways longer than AKV hallways?

I have to agree with dislainey on her thoughts...other than the long walk to our room, we do have quick access to the pools, and perhaps one of the closest spots to get to the busses. We did walk to Hollywood studios, and that walk was just about as long as it would have taken to go to the boat, get off and get to the main gate...just no break in the walk as you would if you took the boat. ...about 10 or so minutes.

Nick, I'd say that the AKV Jambo Hallways are just a bit shorter than the hallways at BWV. The difference between the two in my opinion are the location of the Elevators. At Jambo, you walk down a hallway, then get on the elevators, then walk farther again...At Boardwalk, the elevators are all close to the lobby, then you walk forever. I haven't stayed at Kidani yet, so i can't compare with those. Perhaps you'll be fortunate to get a room closer to the lobby.
We have actually found that if you exit the building and go through the pool areas, or directly onto the sidewalk at the front of the resort, you get to the lobby/resort areas or Boardwalk quicker. (our room is right next to the parking lot)...just my perception though.
Oh, and Nick....as far as refilling mugs, the only two places we have found so far is at the clown pool and also the boardwalk bakery. I'm sure you've read the posts that you show them the mug, and they give you a cup of your choice of beverage...guess it's a sanitary situation. We prefer the self-serve at BCV ourlseves... oh well.

Just typed that in my above comment not knowing you wrote that too! :rotfl::rotfl2::thumbsup2

We got our laundry done...Not sure if this has been an issue, but they have ELITE washers and dryers for use now, and they work great!!!! Laundry was dry within 10-15 minutes!

The following day,(Tuesday), we slept in a bit, and got breakfast at the Boardwalk Bakery
My wife Marlow got the Chicken Salad Wrap
130.jpg

I got the Egg, Bacon and Cheese Croissant
131.jpg

We then did more walking around at EPCOT...Went to Figment, The Land, and and Finding Nemo. click on pic to see video of Mine..mine...mine :)

We also went on the Seeds Tour. This was our second time on the Tour, and learned a lot of different things since we've had different tour guides. This time our guide primarily worked with the marine life...gators and fish, in relation to hydroponics. We have a little Aero garden at home, so this kind of thing fascinates us...looking to expand our garden in the future. We didn't take as many pictures this time inside there, but we did go on the tour a few months ago. If you'd like to check them out, go here on my facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=23475&id=1832187443&l=07b4e8abbb
We then went back to our room, rested a while, then walked to Hollywood Studios. We went to 50's primetime Cafe for our main meal. Marlow got the Pot Roast, and I got the Meatloaf Dinner. Our waitress was nice, although she told me to put my cell phone away since toys are not allowed at the dinner table. All in all, a nice meal. Didn't get any pictures there... We went on the Movie tour..forgot the name...one inside the chinese theater, and then headed back to the resort for yet more rest.
A little insight on us...I have major chronic insomnia, and my wife also has major sleep issues, so we generally can't do a whole lot at a time. So, we rest alot, and take our time when visiting the parks...Gotta love DVC! We know we'll be back, so we no longer go commando in the parks anymore...plus we just like to take our time with things :thumbsup2

Today, Wednesday, we went to once again....EPCOT...see a trend developing here?!?!?!?!
We went into a few shops, and to Le Cellier for Lunch. As much as i wanted the steak, we couldn't justify coughing up $32.00 for it, then appetizer, drinks and dessert. We opted for their lunch special for $32.00 each; which included for us: Cheddar cheese soup, Open faced steak sandwich for Marlow, and a BBQ burger for me, with fries or Potato Salad. Creme Brulee for dessert. Well, the dessert came home with us, as well as the fries. We had planned on going to Animal Kingdom later however the both of us started feeling a little ill. So, i'm here catching up on our Trip report, and my wife's getting rest. We did get a Pizza for dinner from the Boardwalk...a bit on the expensive side, but didn't taste bad either. Our plan tomorrow is Animal Kingdom/Hollywood Studios and dinner at Tutto Italia at 8:25pm. Marlow loves pasta...we'll probably split the dish...we'll see.
Note to self...we need to take more pictures! ..gotta learn from DVCMike!:thumbsup2

Question for everyone: Concerning the back entry into EPCOT...There is a drive around near the entryway...where we walk from the resorts to the park...was there at one time another form of transportation back there? My wife and I see the "wrap around" driveway and wonder if carriages, trams or other sorts of transportation were used back in the day...

Oh...i'll still get that steak...We're coming back in May, and will have the dining plan then, so i'll be getting it then. ...Also considering a march trip as well...love the flower and garden festival.

Yes, there used to be trams (like in teh parking lots) the provided transportation from the Yacht & Beach Club (and I think the Swan and Dolphin too) to the International Gateway entrance. I have an old souveneir video that dates back to about 1991 that shows people getting ofdf a tram at IG.

I'm not sure when the service was discontinued, but it was not there in 1997 when I spent a year working at WDW. I'm guessing there were changes around the time the Boardwalk area opened up but hopefully someone else has a better timeline.

Just got back from a studio at BWV on Sunday. We were in room 2029 which is on the same level as the lobby right above the restaurant with the brewery. I found it impossible to get to sleep before 2 AM with all the noise out on the boardwalk.

We stayed on the top floor on the hotel side right by ESPN before and the noise wasn't a problem at all. It was either being higher up or the glass is thicker on that part of the resort.
