Howdy from Walt Disney World at the Contemporary Resort!!!!

I arrived yesterday and spent one night at All Star Sports. Ummmm...I love Movies and Music, but I really disliked Sports. There was nothing in the room but beds, an iron, tv...what happened to the soap. At least a soap dispencer would have been nice. Okay, I didn't do any research and didn't realize that Pop Werner was down here this week. It was crowded, but not bad. The kids stuck with themselves and we were "put on the peaceful side." Enough about the All Star Sports.

I am now sitting at the Contemporary resort, 14th Floor park view!!! Absolutely Fantastic!!! Yes the 14th floor is remodeled, but our room doesn't look like the pics from Debs Website. I will try to take pics and post later. Absolutely love this place...do I have to go home?!?!?! pirate:

It was almost 86 degrees yesterday. Epcot was really crowded, but I just wanted to walk around by myself yesterday. (Parents were visiting relatives and I chose Epcot) If you love Chinese food definately do the Lotus Blossom Cafe. Just for myself I purchased the Egg Rolls ($3.50) and the Beef Fried Rice ($3.99) and a Large coke ($2.29) Total of $10.42. Let me tell you. It would have feed two with no problem!!!! So for a little under 11 dollars for two. Pretty good if I do say so. A-

Today: We went to Disney MGM A little cooler today....63 and windy. But it will be up to the mid 70's by Wednesday. It was a little crowded, but not bad. We did Lights, Motor, Action...love this show!!!! We then went to the Backlot Express here is what we got:

2 Hot Dog with Fries..............11.58
1 Turkey Sandwich Fries..........6.89
2 Cheesecake........................7.18
2 Milk...................................3.98
1 Large coke.........................2.39
tax......................................2.08
TOTAL................................32.02

Remember this is for 3 people, not just me :rotfl2:

Honestly, not bad for counter service. B+

After lunch we rode "The Great Movie Ride" It looks cleaner and brighter. They have added some new movies to the movie reel at the end. I don't care, I like this ride alot!

We walked over to the "villians" shop (use to be my favorite shop in MGM since, even though I'm a Fan of Goofy, Im a huge Villians fan.) Well the shop should be called the Pirates and Jack Skellington Shop. For a Villians fan, very disappointing.

Since we started out at 7 am this morning, we then came back to the room to relax and for me to put this out there. Tonight is Downtown Disney and shopping, and come back to the room to watch Wishes tonight.

I will try my hardest to post some more, no promises....I'm at Disney for goodness sake!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Any questions, give me a holler!

Talk to you soon

Unless you are a fan of those two like myself. :cool1:

My question is how is it to walk around the parks when the temps are a little cool? Were the crowds bad at MGM?

I'm so jealous! I would love to be at the Contemporary right now. Here in Michigan it is snowing like crazy! :cold: I've never tried the Lotus Blossom Cafe, I will have to make a note of it. It sounds yummy.

Thanks for taking the time to post. Now go enjoy the rest of your trip!

goofyinohio, I stand corrected, I am a fan of both, and it is great for people who like both. :woohoo:

It is wonderful to walk around when it is a little cool. I found 61 degrees good for just a light weight jacket. But what is neat is seeing the way people are dressed from different regions of our country and of the world. People were dressed from tank tops, shorts, and flip flops/open toed shoes to winter jackets, blue jeans, hats, gloves, and boots. I was standing in line for a drink and these two people were in front of me. The lady in the tank top was from Denver and the lady in the jacket (almost a heavy winter coat) was from Tampa. They were both giggling with each other about how the other was dresses. But to walk around without the heat of the pavement, and the heat from the sun, and the closeness of people is wonderful.

Oh, crowds at the parks. A little crowded, but not bad. Managable. There was about a 15 minute wait at The Great Movie ride. I am unable to ride the "thrill rides" this trip (major surgery 2 months ago just won't let me :teeth: ) It was half full at Lights, Motor, Action. Nothing compared to Epcot on Sunday!! Now I have never been to Epcot where I felt smothered until last Sunday. But I knew it would be. 86 degrees, Sunday, sunny....yep, people were everywhere.

Maxiesmom: Thank you, and I loved the Lotus blossum. I cannot remember all that they had, but the bowls they used to serve there food in was/is huge and filled! I hope you'll like it when you try it.

Vickie46: This year we are not going to MVMCP. Next year when the whole family is coming down we will. But we can see the fireworks from the show, and let me tell you.....FANTASTICALLY WONDERFUL!!!! :thumbsup2 I can hear the shows from my balcony and they sound wonderful also!

Babywewe: I would send some your way, but it's only going to be in the mid to lower 70's. If you want some of that, I'll try my hardest to turn all the fans toward your way! :wave2:

Okay, tomorrow we will be heading for MK with a Crystal Palace ressie at 8:05 am...or shall I say in the next few hours! Yikes I need to get to bed! LOL. Anyways, we are doing MK in the morning, and then, we are sneaking over to Mousesurplus. (Better leave my credit cards in the safe and measure how much room is in the van before I go :rotfl2: )

I'll post more later on today (or tomorrow for me :rotfl: )

Chris

bubblefactory, we asked for Park View on the 14th when we made the reservations and we got park view. I will have to wait to post pictures when I get home. So I will try to take good ones. Real quick....this is a free internet access, so that is most definately a perk!

We are doing the 12th floor next year, but I wish we were doing the 14th!

Hope that helps!

Chris
