I am trying to make a plan for this Saturday and Sunday, first time going since RSR and Carsland opened. I want to try to get on all attractions there but not sure the best approach.

I am looking at Ridemax which has some really crazy numbers, but what is the best approach?

1) Get RSR fastpass, hit up other rides in Cars Land, and move on from there (Soarin, TSMM, etc.)
2) Go on RSR first, then do the rest of the Cars Land and other rides.
3) Go on RSR, skip the other rides in Cars Land.

As an FYI, we are 28 and 27, so no kids if the other rides are very kid-ish.

Thanks!

If I were you... with no kids... I would do RSR first thing in the Single Rider line, SKIP Luigis altogether, then enjoy TSMM with a short wait and do the rest of the park. Mater can be enjoyed later in the day with a short wait, and you can always do RSR at night through the SR line again if you want. The SR line seems like the way to go if you don't mind the possiblity of being split up(you may still get to ride together) since you have no kids with you.
HAVE FUN!!

Thanks. I am starting to think thats a good plan. We are only there for 2 days and it seems like going to RSR later is a crazy ling wait, and I love mornings in Disneyland. We will have to see if we want to ride it a second time or just the one day.

My personal favorite is to get RSR FP, ride Luigi's, then go from Carsland to Paradise Pier through the Wharf area and hit up TSMM.

I just posted in another thread that on a non-EMH day, I was able to be through the RSR FP line in 15 minutes, through Luigi's in 15-20, and then hit up TSMM for about a 30 minute wait. This was just recently.

The biggest drawback to RSR standby first thing in the morning is that the ride doesn't always start right at opening. I have tried this approach a few times and sometimes it works and sometimes you are stuck in the queue wondering if you should bail or if RSR will be up in 5 minutes. Meanwhile, your precious morning hours are ticking away.

I like the security of a RSR FP and the short lines at Luigi's. I know some people here don't like the ride, but I think if the line isn't outrageous it is a very cute ride. I wouldn't wait an hour for it, but I would wait 15 minutes. Mater's is an easy ride to catch when you return to Carsland to use your FP, the lines are almost never that bad.

And I know single rider is great, but honestly when I am there with my DH, we want to ride together. It is just more fun for us. But if the OP doesn't mind splitting up, you could ride RSR in the morning through the SR pretty quickly. Of course, the longer you are in the RSR line, the longer the lines for Luigi's and TSMM are building. I prefer to get the RSR FP and hit up the rides with no FP when they have shorter queues. Same strategy as for Disneyland, just applied to DCA. Have fun! :thumbsup2

We will be there this weekend, too.

See ya there!! ;)

We love SR line. To be separated into separate ride vehicles for 5 minutes doesn't bug us. Sitting side by side in a ride vehicle just doesn't do it for us, it's not a huge part of our romance, LOL. And for us, at least, volume of rides is more valuable than time spent in a line together, so the SR line works for us! I highly recommend it. :)

We also like meeting people for that brief time and sharing a laugh. It's why I miss the SR line at TSMM so very VERY much. On that ride in particular I'm always alone anyway (DS and DH like riding together), and it's more fun with a stranger to compete against (I don't like competing with my husband or son so I actually prefer a stranger on TSMM) rather than being alone. :(

And if you can get on Luigi's early enough you can get your own tire and try to hit each other, LOL.

I would recommend getting a FP first. We had tried to ride first thing after opening, but the ride was shut down most of the morning and early afternoon. If we had had a FP, we could have avoided a significant line that built up after it opened later in the day and we were on the other side of the park.

Very good point, somewhat of a safety net. I think that will be our plan, especially since they aren't enforcing the late fastpass yet. Get the fastpass, hit up Luigi's/TSMM and then make our around.

Thanks everyone!

I didn't read the whole thread, but thought I'd pop in with some info since we are here now. We managed to ride 4 times during our trip. First day we had EMH and got there pret quickly, but the ride was down, waited 45 min for it to come back up. 2nd EMH it was running and it took about 30 minutes total. 3rd time we got in line 5 minutes before closing, took 45 minutes. Last time was with 10 years old and we did single rider. Took us about 20 minutes.

We never did get FP. I did talk to A lady who said the CM at the gate told her she 'just made it' as per the time in her FP, so it does sound like if the ride is running, they are enforcing FP times. Just wanted to let you know!!
