Had to bring my chicken Ceasar salad to a Disney manager today - there were several bugs crawling on the top and out from underneath the pile of lettuce. (at least it wasn't snakes ;-). He looked at quickly, saw one of the bugs and offered to replace it, give me something else or refund the money. I choose to have it refunded. Appetite was gone. I picked at some of my husband's udu noodles and then bought a safely sealed Mickey ice cream bar an hour later.

He wasn't even a little bit surprised nor was the cashier who processed the refund.

Bugs were light colored; shaped like lady bugs and about the same size. We bought photopass so I didn't take the camera today which by the way was a poor choice. We found exactly one photographer in EPCOT on the way out of the park.

Oh No! :scared1:

At least you got your money back. Yuck!

Yikes!! :scared1: We're going to be there in 2 wks...thanks for the heads up...not sure if I'll eat any salads. I would have gone with the Mickey Bar after that, too! ;)

Yep, that's pretty gross. We had that happen in a restaurant once - when my husband took the bun off his burger to remove the pickles or lettuce or something - well ... eeeewww. I never could eat at that restaurant again.

Oh nooo!! :scared1:

I always go to the land and get one of those salads. I might skip it my next trip.

Mmmm. Tastes like Chicken. :crazy2:

I think I'd decide to start a mickey bar diet right then and there too.

I wonder what kind of bugs they were? Doesn't anybody wash their lettuce anymore. I mean a dead bug is one thing but alive, crawling around. Somehow I don't imagine your's was the only one that had bugs!

Maybe the land is going completely green and you have to either kill your own protein or eat it very fresh, by the same token even Andrew Zimmerman cooks his bugs!

P.S. Any specs on you room#, size, conditions etc. at OKW, Going back in Aug.

I had a live cockroach on my plate a few years ago at a local restaurant. It was pretty obvious to everyone in the restaurant as I screamed as it pranced around on my plate, onto the table into the floor, where I promptly stepped on it.

I totally agree...I have a pretty hearty appetite usually, and completely lost my appetite. They offered me more food, but not a refund. The restaurant closed a month later.

:) Found a blue rubber band in my diner one night. Local place, got free dessert, they closed a bit later. I am not hard to please and a wound care nurse so the appetite is always hearty, regardless...:rolleyes1

2 br in 55 at OKW. Clean but a few minor broken things in kitchen (knobs, shelves) and equipment is very low grade. First time doing any real cooking and it was a struggle.

There is no excuse for bugs in food anywhere, espcially high priced Disney Rests

At least you have a full size kitchen, that's really my only criticism of BWV, the kitchens are tiny. You can't stand two in the kitchen and the stove is small and 3 out of the 4 burners wouldn't stay in the slot. OKW has smooth tops and is quite a bit roomier!

I've been in building 55! Nice to hear it was clean.

Enjoy the rest of your vacation!

Can only assume you ordered the "deluxe" Caesar salad :lmao:

one reason fix my own.

okay my allergies and not wanting to wait for hours is the really reason.

so sorry this happened to you.

might write to management - not to get something - but to make them aware that the Land has bug problems in the kitchen. Assuming this is the Land Grill and not the food court right?
