We are at OKW now and my DH is trying to get our wireless router to work. Internet works fine plugged into the jack directly to the laptop, but can't get it to work plugged into the router. Any suggestions? THANKS.

Did the router work in wireless mode at home? Double check that you are using the correct ports. If you plug the computer directly into the router can the computer access the internet. Do you have the computer WiFi adapter turned on. Check your adapter status, sometimes there is a external switch on the computer.

Just tried plussing directly to router and router to wall... No dice.

Forgot to say, yup, running wireless at home, although we're running off the Uverse router there. Here, we brought our old LinkSys router, which worked fine when we used to use it. Ports were all connected OK.

I would try to reset the router by pressing the small button on the back for several seconds.

Then if that doesn't work I would unplug it and leave it unplugged for a few minutes, and then try again.

OK. Thanks. Just tried that. No luck.

Will your computer work with just the ethernet cable plugged into it (not the wireless router). I always hook up without the router when I first arrive. Three times I had to call for assistance and they had me make some adjustments. Once I got my netbook working with the ethernet cable plugged into the wall, then I unplugged it and used my DLink wireless rounter the remainer of the trip. My last time the actual room connection was having problems (so it wasn't me).

Don't some wireless routers have the username/password for the ISP set in them? I'm pretty sure mine does. Could that be the problem? Your router is trying to logon when it doesn't need to?

I had a heck of a time with mine last trip. Try keeping your router plugged into their connection for 20 minutes of so. That may be enough for their system to reset the mac address to your router.

I am also having trouble but it seems to be in the daytime and nights are okay. I am a networking dummy but I have never had trouble on previous trips.

1) Can you connect to your router wirelessly?
2) Can you log into your router probably 192.168.1.1 Default password admin.
3) Make sure the router is not set to log into the ISP (no login or password)
4) possibly reset the router to its defaults if you do not know your way around your router.
5) Call Disney for support, they may not provide support for adding a router so be nice.

Thanks. Yes, we actually did have some settings problems and got the direct wall to laptop setup running. Then I tried wiring the wall to router, router to laptop with no luck.

I have no idea. Any way to tell?

I just had the laptop connect via wire to the router, router to wall. Not sure why it works now and it didn't before. But I'm not complaining! Now I'll try without the wire and see what happens.

Ding, ding, ding. We have wireless. Thanks, folks!

Thinking it was the Pinging of the router that got the ball rolling. Can't be sure, but that was what I did before I got it to work, so a definite maybe.
