At Least We Are All Tall Enough For Barnstormer! A June 2017 PTR...updated 6/1

There's a free Disney Parks version, as long as you're in one of the parks. DS is obsessed with this game while we're in line. He wants to play all the time. LOL.
That I said great to know! Thank you so much! Do you have to go on the website or app to access it?

t's obvious that paying OOP is actually going to end up being cheaper for us, and, as I said above, we will get to eat as we want to! More yay!!

OOP always seems to end up cheaper for us too.

I'm thinking of buying the Heads Up App for my phone for something to keep us occupied in lines and waiting for stuff. Apparently you can pay extra to make your own things to guess and I saw Joe of See Ya Reel Soon (Disney vloggers) made one with Disney characters...so I might try to do that. Though I don't know what all is involved in that...so who knows if I'll get to that or not. LOL.

Heads Up is so fun. I don't know anything about creating your own though, but that sounds fun too.

would still retain my discount from getting them at a discount broker. But, obviously, I'm going to have to pay very close attention to the procedures to see what Disney really does, but as long as I get credit for what I paid, I'm okay with it because it is sort of a pseudo-Disney savings account and ensures we get to go back!

I feel like I read somewhere that you can't price bridge anymore? That they just apply the credit for the amount to the new tickets. So I'm not sure if discounted tickets help anymore, but I could be wrong.

And if that pans out, I would like to plan meals at Cape May (breakfast and/or dinner), Beaches & Cream, Shulas, and the Bon Voyage character breakfast (if it is still going on). I also would like to do Hoop de Doo, which I realize would be better this trip with us staying at WL, but it just doesn't fit this trip...so it will have to wait.

We have rebooked the BC for Sep (I'm hoping this time it sticks because discounts are coming soon), and that's sort of our plan. Well Cape May and Beaches and Cream. I think those plans sound great! I haven't really planned out 2019, but I do have some ideas already. I wanted to try Disneyland that year, and then maybe a WDW trip.

I went through the app to access it. There's also a free "just for kids" game in the app that DS likes.

@DLmama said there is a free Disney version when you are in the park!! I'm gonna try that.

The speculation is that they will only give you credit for the gate price of the year you purchased now since they will know based on expiration dates. However, what I have read is you would still retain the discount between discounted ticket price and that year's gate prices because Disney has absolutely no idea what you paid for your ticket from a discount broker, as they can charge whatever they want. But again, this is all just educated guesses at this point.

I hope it works out!!

Thanks!

Fun! I'm hoping for DLR next year (the plan is to eventually rent an RV with my parents and drive out, making several stops on the way) but my dad prefers to wait til the boys are a tad older.

Thank you! The Heads Up App or MDE?

Looks like the app is free for Android, which is what I have. But once you have the app, then you can get the Disney Parks themed game for free when you're in the parks. :D

"The app is available for $.99 on iOS and free on Android. Once it’s downloaded, guests visiting Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort and Aulani can unlock the Disney Parks themed deck for free. It features iconic attractions, characters and experiences."

This blog post was from last year, but I'm assuming the info is still relevant.

In the end, I determined the dining plan would be a little cheaper (but that includes extra mugs we wouldn't need) so I figured it would be close to breaking even and we could eat exactly as we want to. Comparison done!

But then, this morning, I realized I had already added in tip to the OOP amount! I didn't go back through and take that out and re-compare but with 8 TS meals, it's obvious that paying OOP is actually going to end up being cheaper for us, and, as I said above, we will get to eat as we want to! More yay!!
For awhile I would run the numbers and it was always either a wash or a tad cheaper going without the DDP. So adding in the fact that we could eat the way we wanted was the deciding factor in us not doing the plan anymore. The last time we did get it, which I think was in 2013, we still ate the way we wanted to and it was silly b/c we wouldn't get dessert at all our TS meals but we'd order apps, the boys wouldn't be hungry for a whole meal when we'd go to QS and sometimes TS, etc.

The ears I ordered came in the mail today!
Very pretty! I wish I didn't get so annoyed when I wear ears :( I just end up ripping them off my head after about an hour.

Isn't she a beauty (no pun intended)?? It is a Beauty and the Beast Harvey!
Like I said the other day, I love it! And I did see when you tagged me in the post for the Vera hipster that someone advertised a couple days ago but I didn't see it until too late. Thank you though!

Also, with APs, we can organize the infamous girls' trip
::yes:: :cool1:
I am not a huge drinker but I am definitely going to get one or a couple grey goose slushies.
Fabulous decision lol!

I'm glad you posted this! I want to get it also :)

The only time it might actually work out for us is if both boys eat a meal each and we load up on character meals. So we'll see again in a few years. But I should have the TIW for our next trips so it might just be better to pay OOP again.

I fear this may happen to me.

No problem. I wasn't sure of the style or print you wanted but I figured it wouldn't hurt to tag you.

Food Budget Done...

That was a lot of work. Since we're all adults we're going to stick with the Dining plan. Someday I'll have to work it out to make sure it's worth it.

I'm thinking of buying the Heads Up App for my phone for something to keep us occupied in lines and waiting for stuff.

I got this awhile back for a get together Danielle had. We had a blast. We're hoping to use in while in line waiting. Last trip my son Brent had it and we used it while waiting for The Voyage of the Little Mermaid to start.

Definitely going to plan on a slushie from France, but I would really like to try both - Grey Goose and Grand Marnier - to do a comparison! I've had one before and I think it was the Grey Goose but that was 2012 so I'll just need to try them both to get a fair comparison done.

I had the Grand Marnier before and plan on getting it again. We also had a watermelon themed drink at Flower and Garden and I want it again.

Like AK, the list is long, so I doubt I will get to have all those, but it's good to have goals right??? HAHA

Totally!

As far as snacks, the Cronut from the Refreshment Port (even though I am not a fan of cinnamon, I still think I have to try this), the Berry Cream Puff or the Troll Horn from Kringla Bakeri, Crepes from France, a funnel cake and The American Dream from The American Pavilion, and some flavored popcorn from the cart between The Land and the Imagination pavilion (yes, we are getting the refillable popcorn bucket).

I love picking snacks too. I have to get something from the caramel store every trip.

The ears I ordered came in the mail today!

So cute!

sn't she a beauty (no pun intended)??

She really is. I hope you enjoy her.

So that was some serious fuzzy Disney math. I hope it all works out for you.

Do! But omg, at my procrastination. It took me months to finally get it done.

More yum!

Haha...I love fuzzy Disney math!

So (another) not an official update but Disney extended MK hours to 10pm. Obviously I am hoping for later but I'm not expecting that until mid May. Right now they are still saying HEA at 9 with no OUAT though that is scheduled at 9:45 up until 6/3. So we'll see if any of that changes to later or not. I have contingency plans for either situation.

I did work on my touring plan for Tuesday, the night we are not seeing HEA. I had had BTMRR as our last ride at 9pm but then I added in the Frontierland Shooting Arcade (though, does anyone know if this closes early?), maybe PP depending on the line, then back to Tomorrowland to do some repeats of Speedway (rumored to be on the chopping block) and The People Mover. Other than that, we will see what else we feel like doing based on how much time we end up having and when MK really closes (my guess is 11pm, but what do I know?)

I got the autograph book I ordered in the mail today:

I'm not crafty so I got it from an etsy shop called ItsPolkaSpotted. I had tried another shop first but they were backed up until the beginning of June. However that owner recommended this shop and I truly love it! Last year I used the Disney Parks ones but I ended up having to buy two and they were expensive. So this was probably more economical as I added in some pages to make it 30 total photo pages and 30 pages to be signed, so no need for two.

Oh and then the hubs came home today from his radio station job with Pandora promotional materials:

Please excuse my stained floor...I have two young boys so there is no reason to replace anything in my house for quite some time!

Other than that, I'm planning to look at character locator and figure out some meeting times and locations for the characters. Start working on a clothing/outfit schedule for me and the boys. Figure out if I need/want to order anything else. I may make or have the boys make a countdown chain...one each actually so they don't fight. It will be easier for them to understand how many more days that way than the countdown I have with the numbers on it. Will, the three year old, asks me every day if it's time for Disney World. The poor thing doesn't understand.

Oh I also picked up this Qore 24 hand purifier stuff that is supposed to be really good. Anyone heard of it? We are not a hand sanitizer family. We do wash hands but I am a big believer in building up immunity to germs through exposure. I'm a teacher and I rarely get sick. I probably have an immunity of steel! But, Will did end up with Strep last trip so I am trying to avoid that this time.

Oh and I am just going back through my Disney research and trying to make sure I remember everything that I meant to remember for our trip...hahaha. We shall see what I forget to do or pack or eat or drink or see. Because I seriously doubt this mind remembers it all!

Anyway, I am so exhausted these days. Work is kicking my tail. 24 more days with students then 2 workdays and this school year will be officially in the books! Then I have a week to get trip ready before it is Disney time. 43 more days (not counting today since it is basically over) til Disney!

This is really cute. I scrapbook but have never taken the time to make one of these for myself. I did some for Make a Wish years ago.

Nice!

This is a really good idea. Danielle really enjoyed this when she was little.

I have the same problem. Every time we go I forget stuff I want to do, eat, drink or buy.

Cute autograph book!

I'm so with you on work. I have one of those classes that just doesn't get along well. It's so draining. And... no one is practicing for my class play and it's stressing me out!

We also hardly use sanitizer. My daughter is legit the dirtiest child ever. Once as a toddler, I caught her laying on her stomach and lapping up the muddy water from a slip and slide. But we hardly get sick. In the last three school years.... I think each kid has had two sick days total- and one was just a few weeks ago!

We usually do a countdown chain too. I was thinking about making it around day 30.

I'm working on it today!

I try to write it down but I have notes written everywhere! I'm trying to consolidate into one planning book for this year so maybe that will help!

Cute autograph book!
Thank you!

I have 16 boys and 8 girls this year. I have never had a split like that and it drives me crazy. All the boys want to do is play!

Yeh, my boys seem to be getting dirtier and dirtier. But I encourage it! Makes them hardy! I can count on one hand the few times they have been on antibiotics.

Yay! I actually cut the paper just now while my kids are at Music. I think the boys will enjoy it!

Oh.... I had that split a few years back- the group that's in 4th grade now. That was a tough mix for sure! Every year... the teachers are like... oh man- this group! It's a LOT of energy! I feel for ya!
