At least 3 Things ~8/26/08~

Just go with your gut, if it felt like the right thing to do, then it was.

Thanks Lisa,

When I told DS16, his jaw dropped. And then he said he was proud of me :lovestruc

and I'll have more time to DIS...:rolleyes1

like that's gonna help the money situation! :rotfl2:

Seriously though, how much money did you make versus how much you spent on gas? How much free time will you have to do the things you want to do versus the things you need to do? Life isn't all about fundage, you can't take it with you!

Very true...actually, DH always said it was costing me money to do it...in a kidding way...

But what you said is sooooo true...it's that feeling when you don't want to do what you need to do, and won't let yourself do what you want to do...so in the end, nothing gets done...

I am right there with you. I need to clean my house, but you know what, no one else helps so why should I bust my behind. But the messy house keeps me from doing the things I want to do out of guilt.

I almost cried when I came in the house Sunday, there was not 1 clean dish, cup or utensil. And I bought them paper goods so I wouldn't come home to that!!!! I took this trip to get my head on straight so I wouldn't kill my kids and husband, it took me exactly 1 1/2 days to get right back there again. ARGH!!!!!

How many days til school starts??? LOL

Sorry, I took over you rant.
Shake it off, shake it off........

Holy cow, this sounds soooooooooo familiar!!!!! ARRRRGGGHHHHHH!!!!! I haven't scrapped in forever because I am usually too busy cleaning or am too exhausted from cleaning. It's a vicious cycle. :headache:

Just keep in mind.. we reclaim our homes when the kids go to school.. take one week and reclaim a room a day... set a schedule and than in no time you'll have that extra time to scrap... believe me.. this is what I did..and I have a system down now..and by 10 every AM, I can scrap if I want too..

now this is more true that I have reclaimed my photos on 2 sets of CDs so that DH will NOT lose them again.. He had to buy me a new printer today because my old one croaked! but it's suppose to print better photos.. it sure better; the last one sucked darts!!!

Anyway, I know where all of your are coming from.. trying to reclaim the house and accomplishing it is a liberating feeling believe me.. I watch a little boy 4 who helps clean so that he can watch Spongebob at 10am.. if things are done he knows the tv can't come on... LOL

Also, right before bedtime routine of brushing teeth, hugs, books.. there is a 15 minute window where the kids must clean up the mess in their rooms and make sure anything that belongs to them is out of the living area/kitchen area or my eyesight! This has worked well..(but w/ the older kids they have a list of 3 things that must be completed or they lose access to their txt. msging...needless to say they have fullfiled their duties thus far)..

Girls it can be done.. we just have to get the kids out the door... It's just too much fun to have them home during the summer, but normalcy is when we are in a schedule!

Nancy, you are so right. I have been getting back on my school cleaning schedule this week and it feels so good! I still have my little bit with me all day so I need to try to get my room-of-the-day cleaned before he takes a nap. Then while he's napping I can scrap.

I like the idea of the 15 minutes before bedtime. Going to try that tonight. Off to tell DH so he doesn't cut into that time.

Yeah I know Nancy but my house is beyond just cluttered, there is crap everywhere. I just shuffle stuff from one room to the next because it really doesn't have a home.
What I really need is a bigger house (and less crap). I would even take one more room! Just one (an office). I could put all of DH's stuff in that room and I would be happy!!!! And if I could ever convince him to get rid of the dining room furniture, we never use it. We are not dining room people, we have a big table in the living room that we sit at. We bought one of those bar height tables because the kids are so tall regular tables don't fit them. When we put the house on the market I can move this into the dining room but until then I would have an actual scrap room.

I did have an architectural epiphany today pulling into the driveway but that would mean tearing down the garage (it's currently detached from the house) and building new, but I think it would be a prefect solution. The question is do I go to that much effort just to sell the house? I don't think I can get enough money out of it to justify the cost.

So I went to teach class tonight, and it was a bit "chilly". She said that they weren't going to try to replace me, just let my classes end with me. She also asked that I not tell the students, and they will be really disappointed. Sheesh...no guilt...

So, DH was home when I got back, and I told him...and he is really happy...told me not to feel guilty, even though he said I will... and said I did the right thing...

As for cluttered...BOY can I relate!! The stuff in my house has expanded to overflow the space. I won't to a "clean house" type cleaning, as I use my stuff, so, I'm going to stay cluttered. I am however going to get rid of craft stuff that I'm not interested in...and bless some newbie :teeth:
