Not a long list -

Take Little Bit to doctor - think he has 5th Disease or a bad reaction to new medicine or laundry detergent

Grocery shop IF it isn't 5th Disease - can't take a chance around pregnant people with this thing.

SIOH - IF it is, I'll spray down the album and wait the recommended time for this virus to die.

Keep Little Bit happy.

AWM- I hope the doctor's visit goes well! 5th Disease doesn't sound fun, so here's hoping it's an allergic reaction!

Ugh!!! I sure hope it's not 5ths Disease.. or FITS disease as my DS7 calls it... he was explaining to DH when he had it a year ago that it was caused by all the fits he threw earlier that week! :rotfl:

keep us posted!!!

i am so out of sorts today. really. i could not put a list together if i tried. i have such a cranking headache.:headache: ugh.

good luck at the drs AWM. let us know he's ok.:listen:

back to work. not in the mood today.

 Holly!
Sorry about the headache.

It IS Fifth Disease. Which is okay with us. I would rather not have to worry about any other possible drug allergies or skin contact allergies.

Good news is once the rash starts to appear, they are no longer contagious. Bad news is if your child has it, you won't know to keep them away until it's too late.

He was already showing the rash on his face when we came home. I just thought he was overtired & overheated. This means he probably caught it while at VBS with my ILs. He never brought active viruses home. No need to stress about sending germs to other people's homes from mine.

Good thing we didn't meet up Brooke. He would have been contagious at that time.

ok now we know what it is...what do they do for it??? prescription??
and it is a good thing that you did not meet up with SIOH.

Nope, no prescription. They don't do a darn thing for it.
If your child happens to have a fever, mine doesn't, then they take the reliever medicine. But that's it.
The rash will go away in about 3 weeks. But overheating, sunlight, stress [throwing fits ;) ]and hot water will bring it back for up to a year. If it was during school time, he could go right back to class.
They know it is caused by a virus, they even know which one, but they don't give shots for it because it doesn't have complications. For children.
If an adult gets it, they suffer from painful joints for up to 3 months. And it is very bad for pregnant women.

I'm still waiting for TCPShauna's & ILMT's pages for SIOH's book, so I'll go ahead and spray everything anyway. I'm psycho that way. The smell will gone by the time the pages get here.

Hi! I haven't been able to check in all day--it's been NUTS! I'm just not a nice person without my DIS!!!

AWM--no worries!! I hope your little one feels better! I was already exposed to 5th Disease in February, had the blood work done, and already had an immunity before that exposure, so I can't catch it. That lovely immunity is one of those great "gifts" from working in a school!

I'm so behind today that a list probably won't do me much good, but I will share my daily news. We had a dr check-up today (I'm at 32 weeks and 4 days). I see a "group" so it's not always the same dr. Anyway, my regular dr (who I use for gyn) came by, saw us in the waiting room, and went ahead and took us (even though our appt was with someone else) so we didn't have to wait! Anyway, after she and DH discussed the US Open, she said, "Ok, let's measure." She pulled the tape out, and then said, "Oh my gosh! What did you measure last time?" Last time was at 30 weeks and 1 day, and I measured around 34. When I told her that, I asked what it was today, and she said, "You're at 37 1/2!" She even did it again just to make sure. She said that sometimes that happens to people when they have a lot of fluid in their uterus, but she said that she didn't think that was me because the head is down "where it matters" ;) and as she said, "See that bump under your ribs? That's his BUTT!!" So, we go on July 1st for ANOTHER ultrasound and then another appt. She said that at that time, we might discuss some delivery options! I kiddingly told her that I had been thinking July 25th was a good day, so she got the chart and said, "I'm not on call that day. How 'bout the 23rd?" We decided with the dr that we're having "Gigantor the Baby". :rotfl2:

Just thought I'd keep the DIS aunties updated!! :thumbsup2

Hmmm, we have a family reunion on the 26th of July. Wonder if I can go down early so I can see the new baby?
Sounds like he's gonna be a big 'un.

Wow! That is so exciting! I love when you get close to the end and you start discussing the plans!

WOOHOO!!!! i love to hear the plans!!!!! so is that the "day"???? i'm so excited!! really you would think it's me!! oh i just can not wait!!!

I'm sorry Brooke but the 22nd works best in my schedule.. I want a baby born on my birthday... talk to your Darling Doctor and see if she is on call the 22nd.....
I can't believe you are such a little thing having such a big baby.. I say you blame DH for all this!! He really owes you!!!! :)

I guess I should be thrilled I had little babies... 6# 5.5 oz, 5# 14 oz and my last was 5# 7.5 oz! They are a breeze!!!

I don't know if 7/23 is the "official" day or not. . .I guess it will depend on the ultrasound. I sort of freaked when I looked at the calendar and realized that 7/23 was A MONTH FROM NEXT MONDAY!!! :rotfl2:

Nancy, I'll have to see if she's on call on 7/22--we'll just have to throw that date into the mix when we start the discussion! ;) And I'm completely blaming DH for this--he was a 10-pound baby. Now, I was about 9 pounds, so it could be partially my fault, but I'm blaming him!! :lmao:

Thanks again, y'all, for being so supportive!! It's so wonderful to be able to share all of this fun stuff with you!!

Brooke,
You do what is best for you!!! I assume they are considering a c-section if he is too big??? I've done it both ways.... DS7 turned during contractions so we had no choice! BRAT!

Keep us posted!!! I'm so excited.. I guess I'll start shopping this weekend.. I almost came home w/ a safari outfit from AK...but DH said no...that is a gift mommy and daddy should buy him... I said.. well, didn't you get the memo.. this is a shared baby.. each DIS Auntie gets him for a month! LOL
