Why did SIOB have a meltdown? We know it wasn't you!

But shopping with two boys will do that to a woman.
Of course it wasn't me!!

I have 3 different events at school this coming week--scholarship night, class night, and graduation--where not-normal-sized me must stand up at a podium in front of a gym full of people and present stuff. So, DH offered to take me to Motherhood Maternity to get some black pants. I needed some that looked dressy, but weren't "stretch" material (thighs like mine don't work with "stretch"!!). I explained this to the lady who worked there (she was not a smallish woman either--not that that matters, but it helps with the other part of the story). I told her that I probably needed capris, b/c I didn't have time to get full length pants hemmed (nor would I have much occasion to wear them this summer). So, she picks out 2 pairs of full-length pants. Um, no, that's ok. Capris, maybe? She asks what size I want. I said, "Well, probably L or XL, depending on the fabric" (again a tush/thigh issue, plus I can't stand really fitted clothes). She gives me 2 pairs, and then she goes, "Well, I really think this pair here would be the best. They have some stretch in them." I said, "They're full-length, and I don't have a chance to get them hemmed" (I was being really, really nice--even DH said so!!

). She said, "What about a petite?" I said, "Not so much with the petite sizing and the thighs". So, the lady walks over to the rack where that pair of pants (the ones that won't work) are and says, "See, here. . .try these. They're a PETITE MEDIUM!!!" Then, she just had this little grin on her face. So, I left. Yep, left. Didn't buy a thing. I griped about it the whole way through the mall, and then I went in the dressing room at another store and cried! It's funny now, but it wasn't then!
See, this is what the 2-boy shopping trips do!!
