At Least 3 Things ~2/8/08~

Debbie - I read the teacher thing the same way. Bad thing is that my sense of humor is ALWAYS like that. :upsidedow

Nan and Candy - I hope your little ones feel better soon!

BAMB - Yippee skippy for you and DH! I wish you both the best of all possible luck and happiness with the new, not-yucky company.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Work. DONE
2. Going away party for my new boss that I was just really, really starting to like. :( DONE
3. Pick up new pain med prescription. DONE
4. Sort some laundry so DH can do a couple of loads. Not Done - he said no way until today.
5. Order 2007 pics so I can kit pages this weekend for next Saturday's crop. Not done - couldn't concentrate with the meds.
6. Scrap. I don't really care what as long as it is something. It's not like I don't have tons to work on. DONE
I got a few things done. The good news is that I picked up my new pain meds and they work really, really well. The bad news is that they work really, really well so I conked out and didn't get everything done. AND DH refused to do any laundry so I didn't even bother to sort since he wouldn't touch it anyway.
Glad you got some :cloud9: .
He'll change his mine when he runs out of tightywhites.
Um, he already did. :scared: :scared1: That's whay I have been harassing him about doing some laundry. He promised some would get done today. I'm not holding my breath.
Update on DH:
The, ahem, people at his current job refuse to release his termination package, which means no $$$. No vacation pay, no bonus, no nothing.
They have 3 people from other groups within the company that are trying to get him into different roles. He comes home last night and asks me if he's making the right choice. UM HELLO!!! Leave now! They have had 2 years to find a new role. They shut him out of the companies access on line, they don't accept bye as bye, they won't give me my money. And they won't let him tell anyone he's leaving. Does that sound like a place that wants you to stay??? I was beyond livid when he said Human Resources was sitting on his papers. I almost called her today.
Little back ground:
He took a year off from A.S. after DD was born because I was in such bad shape after having her (for all the newbies, the delivery almost killed me, literally). The contract work (done from home) that he was doing finished up so he opted to go back to A.S. They told him, do the job you left and within 6 months we will have a new role, minimal travel (currently 45 weeks on the road), yada yada yada.
2 years later (Thanksgiving) DH goes up to the boss and says you have until Dec 31 to find a new role for me or I'm out. Dec 31st came and went, still doing the same thing. They think a month at home working at a major sports channel will satisfy him. UM, Yeah, no.
Fast forward to Friday: Earlier in the day DH had talked to an other colleague (L) that handles billable bonus plans for the quarter, L tells DH he hit tier 3 for the bonus package, best out of 3, highest pay scale. DH then meets with the boss (T). T tells DH that Human Resources won't release DH's termination papers until she hears back from T. And T tells DH he only hit tier 1, maybe tier 2 in the bonus. Hmmm, someone's lying. Question is who. DH has requested a copy of the billable hours from L. We can also tally them ourselves but we want to see where the difference is that L and T are getting.
So as it stands, he's a man with 2 jobs but no $$$$. :rolleyes:
gotta love it! sorry for the book, I needed to vent!
Boy BAMB I would so be at the HR office w/ lawyer in tow... What a bunch of B....S.......... That is just nuts..
Why in the world would L tell him one thing..and T tell him another.. unless T is trying to get some of DH's money... AFTER all DH has done for them.. MY gosh.. they should be throwing money at his feet...and giving him a raise to make him want to stay... but for this stuff... ERRRRRRRRR!
Wow, that's is absolutely horrible. I can't believe the things that companies do- absurd. I would be interested to know if they can legally refuse his termination package. DH isn't home to ask either... hmmmm. :grouphug: to you and DH!
we will get a lawyer if need be. They are throwing job opportunities at his feet, but it's too little too late.
I don't know. I would think that since most states have a right to hire/fire clause that they couldn't sit on it. DH is trying to be diplomatic about the whole thing and not burn any bridges but no one gets in between my money and me! LOL I'm sure they can't refuse hie resignation but they can sit on it or lose it. And drag out paying out our vacation and bonus.
My Sis has friends who are lawyers in CT. Farther away from you, but I could get their number if you need legal advice.
I'll keep it in mind, thanks! Problem is the company is based in CA so I'm not sure where we would have to go to file a grievance.
buffy that whole thing just stinks. :flower3:
i had to take a seminar for my job and all but one state you are an employee at will. YOU or the COMPANY can terminate the working relationship at any time. with or without notice. (now that came from an attorney speaking at the seminar)
but what do you do to light the fire underneath their butts to get over it and pay out what's due him????
very frustrating. so sorry to hear this. :hug:
