Yep, I'm feeling bad... poor kid is such a trooper.. periodically when he woke up last night.. he yelled for me... and I'd asked him what he needed... he kept tellin' me "thank you, love you"... I told him this is a mommy's job.. not one we like but one we have to handle... I've slept on the couch w/ him for the past 2 nights... we got to sleep in our own beds three nights ago..but other than that.. the couch needs re-fluffed from where we have been sleeping on it.... I'll send him your hugs/kisses....

Shauna, glad you were able to relax in that MRI... and I'm still disappointed that he didn't read that questionairre...but at least he admitted it..and it may have made a difference where as he will read them in the future..doesn't make it right that you had to feel horrible...but maybe it will help you and someone else in the future.... I'm anxious to hear the results and see what the surgeon has to say.. Keep us posted... How did you sleep last night?

Ok, off to get the van warmed up.. I need to take DD to school for a SC meeting...

Shauna, I am so glad things went well! I am glad the doctor finally saw the light! Geez. I hope you had a restful night!

Nancy, I hope your little guy gets some relief soon!

Thanks everyone!

I'm sure falling asleep during the MRI was due to exhaustion. I was so tired after not sleeping for days that I practically passed out on the table.

I pretty much gave my doctor a "gentle" ribbing for not reading the form. I basically told him that it was ridiculous to be required to provide your entire life history and then find out that no one looks at it. I couldn't keep myself from rubbing in the fact that the whole vicodin episode could have been avoided if he HAD read it. He was very apologetic. I forgot to mention that the side benefit of the valium is that it brought my blood pressure way, way down. I've been up around 140 over 85 which is astronomical for me since I'm usually 110 over 65. My pressure yesterday had finally gone down to 120/75 so it was much more normal. Yippee!

My "sleeping with Prince Valium" as DH put it was quite lovely. I took my standard dose at 10:00pm and was out like a light by 10:30. I've had a patch on my knee since yesterday evening around 6:00pm and when I took it off this morning, the swelling had gone down A LOT. I have another one on now and I'm happy to report that the pain is a lot better. He said he was sure my insurance wouldn't cover the patches because they are so new to the market so he gave me for samples and I have to wear them until 6:00pm tomorrow. I'm hoping it will relieve the bulk of the pain within the 48 hours. Honestly, I can say that I slept better last night than I have in weeks and it was GREAT!

Nancy - I hope your little guy starts to feel a lot better very soon.

Ashley - I hope you aren't coming down with the nasty bug your DD had. Drink lots of OJ!

Thanks again for the support, everyone. I'll keep you posted!

Shauna, hopefully the patches will subside the pain enough that the other meds will do the trick. Trying to break through the pain is the worst. I'm glad you got some sleep, that will help too. And your blood pressure, wow. I'm sure that didn't help the pain and swelling either. I really hope that the next few weeks gets you the results you need to be pain free.

Oh Nancy, you need to give little man a hug for me. You need to jut that Thank you, I love you down somewhere. It'll make a cute scrap page some day.

I agree... I had him doing homework the other day and took photos... he looks so puny... I'll give him a hug when he wakes up... off to call the hair salon for DD's hair cut tomorrow after practice... I think we are going out for a talk afterwards.. She just called from school to check on her brother.. What a sweetheart!

Made incredible sense... It makes me think that I'm doing a good job of raising her to be a good mother when she is MUCH, MUCH older!!!
