At Least 3 Things ~2/19/08~

we had our recheck appt today at 10:00 and the dr. said she has never seen so many cases of sick little kids. she said it's been crazy in there. my little man had strep 14 days ago and they think he either still has it, or never got rid of it. ok, how did that happen???? he took his full dose of antibiotics for 10 days and it never touched it??? are ya kiddin' me??? oh good grief. so here's my dilemma......his bday party is on saturday and we rented out the pool and i have been in birthday party mode for the last 2 weeks doing everything from food to thank you bags to paper goods to the cake...... and now what in the world do i do if he's sick on saturday????? and to top it off i have about 60 people coming, so i can't call everyone and call it off. and can't rebook the pool because they are booked solid. it was a miracle that we got in when we did. i actually think someone might have cancelled and that's how we got the date in the 1st place. not to mention that i gave a rsvp date of 2-10 and i have had mothers calling me today asking if it's too late and can their girl or boy still come??? ok folks- i'm trying to make thank you bags and everytime i think i've made enough- nope. off to get more of the same stuff. i'm not kidding you. i think the whole birthday party is getting out of control. i have spent a small fortune on the thank you bags. especially when you consider i've made 35 of them! and i like to have a few extra in case "so in so" brings their little sibling. then i told mil that i was not sure of the food and she said you HAVE to feed the adults. so how many pizza's do i need for 60 people. (that's adults and kids) and if you have more than 23 people in the pool they need another life guard. add that to the tab. oooohhh boy.i am feeling so overwhelmed. and so my original ? was what do i do if my little man is sick??? oooh happy birthday, but by the way you can't go to your own party. have i mentioned that i'm stressed about it??? oh and how about that cake? i called and ordered it and asked if they could make it like a pool? sure they girl said, but it's an extra 25.00 for art work!!!! are ya kiddin' me???!!!! dh said, it's a good thing we only have one the way you spend money on these birthday parties!!!! i don't think we could afford any more!!!!! oh what does he know anyway!!!!
ok so sorry to vent but i just had to get this all off my chest. somebody please tell me it will all work out!!!!

Will he still be contagious if he is on antibotics? Could he go to his party and just not swim? I know that would be hard, but it's got to be better than not going at all.

I am so sorry he is still unwell. I hope he gets better soon!

Vent away. We may not all have advice, but we can certainly listen.

Here's mine for today:

1. Work--done

2. Nap (sad, huh?!?)--done

3. Finish squares, journal boxes, and toppers for resort swap--toppers are assembled. not much else done.
4. Clean kitchen counters

Sending lots of get well wishes to our little sickies!! Kids are out sick and getting sick all over the place at school--most school systems around us have closed for illness, but we haven't done that yet. I hope everyone feels better soon!!

The Day before Hump Day....

I need to :

1) Go to the market

2) Post Office going tomorrow

3) Tidy in Crap Room done...sort of

4) Finish "Becoming Jane" I think the phone rang 50,000,000 times today!!!! done...I liked it...anyone seen it yet?

5) Might have to go to nursing home if they choose to move DUnc today yup, he is out of the hosp and in a nursing home. It was really hard to see him there...

6) I'm thinking salmon for dinner nope, yet again, life has messed up my dinner plans.

So, now my DS19 has the barfies. Got it from his cute DGF, who is now over here keeping him company between trips to the potty. Just great!! She did bring him some ginger ale though...

PO3.. if he is an antibiotics and no fever I would think he would be no longer contagious... I would probably call the Dr and ask for safety reasons.. I mean kids will get sick; they pick those germs up everywhere.... I know it would be hard..but I would probably go ahead w/ the party but he wouldn't be able to swim.. but maybe some of that chlorine will clean out those germies!
BTW, don't answer the phone any more.. there is no more room in the party pool!!!
