After researching the price of a disney wedding having it closse to home which would be disneyland is out of the question and having a desination wedding in florida is just as much almost. Im thinking of doing it at my house with alot of work it could be totally pretty. I was thinking fabric, lights (maybe even disney or shapes of mickey ears or the castle) and doing the whole disney theme with the food ive seen mickey ear pasta, pretzels and other things. I was wondering if you think that 1000 for everything is really not enough or do you think it could be done. This would be for the day minus wedding dress, tux, and hair.:earseek:

$1,000 is really pushing it, IMO. I think closer to $2,000 would be more realistic by doing it yourself and as bare bones as possible. It all really depends on how many people would be attending and what you would need. Such as rentals for chairs, tables, and linens, the amount of flowers for bouquet's, boutenierre's and decor. Plus, food, alcohol, and not to mention your wedding cake. The cost for an officiant usually averages around $250. Unless you know somebody that can do it for less, or even for free. If you have someone that can do the photography for you, I would definitely ask them because the minimum cost for a photographer will probably be right around the amount you have for your entire wedding budget. Then there are favors to think about, along with other wedding decor (candles, confetti, bubbles, guest book, cake knife, etc.). However, a good amount of this kind of stuff you can get for a fairly decent price.

Also, there is music to budget for. If you would want a DJ, they usually start at $400 & go up from there. You could also just make mix cd's from cd's you already own and put someone in charge of making sure there was always music playing.

I don't mean to come off as negative, I just think it would be really hard to pull it off with only $1,000. Like I said above, $2,000 would be better. However, $3,000 would be ideal for what I think you're looking for. Again, a lot of this depends on the number of guests.

Good luck with your planning! :earsgirl:
