At Hollywood- where is best place for fireworks?

I thought I saw something about by Gertie but don't remember.

We've watched them several times. The very best view is a few dozen yards back from the stage where the DJ does the pre-show, as you're looking straight on, but it's extremely crowded. Another good straight-on view (with very few people around) is outside the gates, but the music is very faint. We've also watched from Echo Lake near Gertie in front of 50's Prime Time; we got a spot on the railing only 10-15 minutes before the show, but you're off to the side, and the lights between the masts of the "Down the Hatch" stay on and are rather distracting. So, no place is perfect.

I am assuming that you are referring to the special-event firework shows over the park and not Fantasmic.. DHS only launches fireworks over the park a couple of times a year, generally during special-events such as Star Wars Weekends, NYE, and 4th of July.. The best place to watch these shows is by standing on Hollywood Blvd as they generally launch the fireworks from behind the Chinese Theater (TGMR), alternate secondary viewing areas could be in Echo Lake area (on side of lake facing towards fireworks) or the main entrance area in front of the Crossroads landmark.. The SW fireworks are nightly through March 19th. Although the fireworks aren't on the Disney calendar, the SW fireworks dessert party is on the website and can still be booked.

True, but it is still a seasonal limited-time show hence why it is not on the calendar, DHS does not have a regular year-round firework show, that is what I was trying to explain to the OP..

I understand. Didn't want the OP and others to think the fireworks were only a couple of times per year as they've been running nightly since December 18th for all guests.

The view from the bus drive up area at All Star Sports was great and only seconds from the pool. One night over our 2015 Christmas trip we saw a rocket launch which was an added bonus ( I remember yelling out..is anyone else seeing this, thinking it was a plane on fire). We also used to watch the Frozen fireworks at HS from the bridge between Pop and AOA. I know it may not be the same as being in the parks, but the ability for the kids to be in the pool right up to the last minute, run over to where we watch the fireworks and then back to the pool has been a great bonus. Plus, we have seen the shows many times in the past and any new experience is an added bonus. Sometimes, we are the only ones watching, other nights we may be sharing the area with one or two other families. This is one of my best memories. Being somewhat alone with the family watching fireworks at Disney and no long line to get back on the bus, just a leisurely stroll back to the pool or our room to go to bed.
