Wow, we have been here many times and this time of year even but have never seen the crowds like this. The opening of POTC is crazy. The line yesturday for Pirates went from the ride through Frontier Land and all the way down main street. Johnny Depp was here signing autographs and there was every news station around taking pictures. We waited until evening after the fireworks to get in the line for POTC. It was really long but we decided to tuff it out. We stood in the same place for 30 minutes and finally an employee told us that the ride was broke and it could be up to 1 hour until it was fixed. We decided that we would try again today. DC is not that crowded and we have spent a lot of time there. By the way we checked in to our room at 11:15 Sunday, and our room was not ready, but to call to see when it would be done. The registration desk told us by 3:00 for sure which is check in. We went to the hotel at 3:00 and we were told our room was not ready and that check in was 3:00 but that does not mean your room is ready then. Any time after 3:00 is what we were told. My husband finally at 4:30 went to the front desk and decided to sit there until they had a room for us. Any way we are in the Sierra building facing DD. It is a nice room and we were sure glad after a 16 hour drive to finally be able to see it.

Have a great trip! I was there last week and also found the crowds to be heavier than what I have experienced in previous years that same time frame. Between POC and the 50th, it would seem the whole world is going to Disneyland! I also had to wait well past three for our room at the GCH to be ready and they told me the same thing about three being the "target" for check ins. Kind of frustrating but the hotels are so sold out busy, I guess its to be expected. Hope you get to ride Pirates today, have fun!

Mousemom - can you do us all a favor? I think the Indiana Jones FastPass machines - which have been turned off - will be turned on again on Wednesday June 28. Can you check and let us know?

I'm here today, and the FP machines at Indy are back up and running... :cool1:

Cool. Thought so. Thanks for the assist.

I will repeat what I said before: The DLR FastPass system is not going away - at least not any time soon. CMs are misinformed way more than you would think. They tend to know a lot about a very narrow range of issues.

I agree!! I noticed this on my recent trips to DL. I asked 3 CM's what time the buffet started at Storyteller's (my friend and I wanted to dine there). They basically made us play ring-around-the-cast -members and no one seemed to know. They just kept passing us off to one CM after the other. :confused3
