Should we bring our own beach towels or does the resort provide them for use at the pools and beach?

There are beach towel kiosks located at 3 different places down in the pool areas. Just show your room key and they give you towels.

We set up our own excursions. Booked Pearl Harbor months ago through the national parks website, surf lessons with Hawaiian Fire (they will pick you up at Aulani) and sunset sail with Hawaii Nautical (they will also pick you up from Aulani). Did our own driving tour of the North Shore. Good luck with your planning!

I looked at the National Parks site - I did not see a way to get tickets -
for Pearl Harbor

You enter your date in the indicated slot and then if tickets are still available, you should be able to select a tour time. They seem to sell out fairly far out so its good to book as soon as possible.

I don't think you will have a problem with the surf lessons. There are tour companies that offer a tour including Pearl Harbor. We saw tons of people there with their orange stickers on. Sorry, not sure of names.

Just wondering about the temperature of the lazy river. I read a trip report (granted, it was from March) that said the water was on the cold side-YIKES!

we were there June 12-22. The water in lazy river and pools were warm. I really liked the lazy river temp b/c usually I hate being in a lazy river and being squirted w/ cold water. The waterfalls and squirters in Aulani's lazy river seemed warm. I am usually a hot tub person b/c pools are too cold but I only went in a hot tub once on our trip.

At Aulani, end of May...Water in the lazy river was fine...actually refreshing!

We LOVED the adult 2 level hot tub with gorgeous view of the beach! Nice thing was that they were never crowded when we were there. I stay away from hot tubs in resorts when they are super crowded..They are HOT THOUGH! Could have been a "notch" lower, but nothing to complain about here!

Oh this is awesome news about the hot tubs being HOT because once I gt chilled it is game over for me and it takes a lot to warm me up! Thanks Jerseygal, GREAT to hear this....

Can you tell me how quickly the stand by tickets are going at Pearl Harbor right now? We are trying to guess what time we should leave the resort and arrive there to get in the standby line.

We aren't staying at Aulani during our upcoming Hawaii trip. Up until we moved away from California this past November we had Disneyland annual passes. My 3 1/2 year old daughter is a HUGE mickey/Minnie fan. She would love to get to see her "friends" again. Is the character breakfast worth it?

Heard good things about the character breakfast! We are going August 9 for our last hooray I will be glad to report back if that is not too late!
