We're currently at AKL, staying on the 6th floor club level in a DVC 1-bedroom. We have a "savanna view", which is actually a construction view.
They are painting the graphic on the top of the lodge, which means that there are large construction cranes directly below our window as well as 3 very loud tanker trucks pumping something. They started at 8am this morning, even though the notice we got in the room about the construction, stated that they would be working from 9-5 Monday - Friday.
The smell outside is horrible, kinda like sewage. There are absolutely no animals in the savanna, which is not surprising.
We have to keep our drapes closed other wise people can look into our room.
The construction of the new DVC property isn't that noticeable. There is a rhythmic pounding, that fades in the background after awhile. Considering the extremely loud noise of the tanker trucks, the DVC property noise is very mild.
Needless to say, we are very disappointed. I knew that there was going to be construction noise from the DVC property. I had no idea that there was going to be work done on Jambo House, right below and above our balcony.
Anyone planning on staying soon and looking over the Sunset Savannah should be prepared to not have a real savanna view, or a quiet stay.
